Molly-Mae admits ‘it’s challenging’ as she addresses show criticism and Tommy Fury claims

Molly-Mae has admitted she has struggled following the release of her new TV show, revealing it’s “definitely been challenging at times”.

In her new Amazon Prime series, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, the former Love Island star offered fans a glimpse into her life as she navigates parenthood and the launch of her own fashion brand, Maebe.

Molly-Mae recently hit headlines due to a shock split from her ex-fiancé, pro boxer Tommy Fury, with whom she shares a daughter, Bambi, and met on the ITV reality show in 2019.

However, her new show has faced criticism, with Molly-Mae forced to defend the series against claims on social media that she and Tommy are already back together, with some fans suggesting their split was a “publicity stunt”.

In a recent interview, Molly-Mae, who was spotted kissing her ex on New Year’s Eve, opened up about her feelings now the show has dropped, revealing it has been “challenging”.

Molly-Mae told Closer: “I have mixed emotions. Some days I’m feeling slightly more anxious, sometimes I’m like, you know what, I’m really proud of what we’ve created.

“It’s definitely been challenging at times, but I think I have to let go and trust that I need to just show my honest self. I’m ready for it to be out there now and to see what everybody thinks. “

She said she’d been “reading the comments” and admitted that it would likely take some time before she’s able to “get my thick skin into play”, but she’s “owning it”, despite the “massive mix of opinions”.

Earlier this month, Molly-Mae responded to the backlash, pointing out she actually says in the show that she wished her split was a “publicity stunt”, as it would have been a “lot easier”. She added that it had been difficult to experience the “turmoil of a break-up” alongside negative speculation.

Molly-Mae said: “People say, ‘oh, this has obviously just been done for long term brand or a publicity stunt’, that is very painful, because it’s real life. Tommy and I have a baby together, and it’s very, very real, and it’s a really hard thing that we’ve both gone through the last six months. I wish it wasn’t, because it would have been a lot easier, but it isn’t. “

The couple first fell for each other while they were contestants on Love Island, with the pair enjoying a five-year romance and welcoming Bambi in January 2023.

A marriage proposal soon followed only six months later, but fans were left stunned last year when Molly-Mae announced that they’d decided to end their relationship.

Yet, when reports circulated about the couple’s New Year’s kiss, it seemed to be a surprise to Molly-Mae, who was shown on camera reading an article all about it.
