If there’s one thing we didn’t expect to trend this winter, it was balaclavas. However, cozy headwear has grown to be one of the most fashionable ways to stay warm this winter, with countless celebrities and fashion icons sporting it to keep their hair in place and the chill out.

Millie Mackintosh, who recently unveiled her adorable Straw X Herd Bonnet in Ecru, £145, in a recent Instagram post, is one of the latest celebrities to do so. Balaclavas, which are also referred to as snoods, bonnets or hoods, have become the chicest way to wrap up warm this winter, offering your head, cheeks and chin protection from the cold, as well as keeping your hair from blowing around whilst out and about.

As a result of the collaboration between Straw X Herd and Millie, Millie’s Straw X Herd Bonnet is made from sustainably-sourced materials. The soft Bluefaced Leicester sheep wool that farmers in North West England use to make yarn within 150 miles of the farms is used to make each bonnet.

Millie’s bonnet also comes in other colours, including this claret colour (Herd)

It’s then dyed using plant extracts and naturally occurring colourings, keeping it as sustainable and natural as possible. You can purchase the Straw X Herd Bonnet in the shades jam, claret, and moss, which Millie chose to use to match some of the season’s trending colors more sustainably.

You can adjust the bonnet’s fit or looseness using a simple hood design that fastens with a bow below your chin. In addition to her cozy winter outfits, Marilyn has recently been spotted sporting the $ 299.99 Chalet Ice Skate Hood from Lorna Murray.

The hood is made from 100% cashmere, making it ultra soft and warm, and features a more full-faced design that reaches under the chin and down the neck for added cosiness. You can pull it tight under the chin to prevent the cold from coming out.

This Women’s Cashmere Merino Knitted Hood from Rise &amp, Fall costs £95 and is made from a blend of 30% Mongolian Cashmere and 70% merino wool. Additionally, it’s available in eight different colors, including bolder and neutral.

If you prefer a wool blend, this Goldbergh Margot Ribbed Knitted Balaclava is £89 and made from 80% acrylic and 20% wool, with a slightly edgier cream and black colourway. The Urban Outfitters UO Flat Knit Hood costs £20 and has a full-style that can be adjusted beneath the chin.
