Millie Mackintosh, a former Made in Chelsea star, has opened up about her relationship with Professor Green almost ten years after their split.

Millie, now 35, met the rapper, now 41 – whose real name is Stephen Manderson – in 2011 and they went on to begin a romance. Two years later, they tied the knot, but 2016 saw the announcement of their breakup. Both of them took swipes at one another on social media after going their separate ways, which appeared to be quite bitter at the time.

Since then, the former couple has both moved away and have children. Millie was a guest on the most recent episode of the Getting There podcast, and their relationship was developed. She claimed that she was “a mess” at the time she married Professor Green and that she was “super young” at the time of her marriage.

Asked about going through a divorce in the public eye, guest Millie said: “I was incredibly anxious. I was barely eating. I was medicating with Xanax. I was… yeah, not well. And just as soon as the feelings start to arise, I can’t help but think of taking a new pill. […] It was a really hard time”.

Over the years, both Millie and Professor Green have shared their personal experiences with mental health. She continued, “I think we both had our own struggles, and I think we both thought we could fix each other,” while reflecting on their relationship. But we couldn’t. And ultimately, we both had our own struggles, and it just magnified it. And it was actually quite toxic”.

Discussing her twenties, Millie said: “It was a turbulent time. I was attempting to avoid the Made in Chelsea crowd. It was my first serious relationship, and I only wanted to be somewhere else. And at that time, I was truly unsure of my true nature.

She also shared an update on Professor Green’s current state of her relationship with her during the podcast. Millie revealed: “We’re in like a nice place now. We both left. We’ve both like started families. We’ve each sent other families photos. It feels like there’s no bad blood”.

Millie is now married to her former co-star Hugo Taylor, 38, who had worked alongside her on E4’s Made in Chelsea. The couple, who have been married since 2018, are parents to daughters Sienna, four, and Aurelia, three, together. Professor Green is a parent to son Slimane, three, from his relationship with actor Karima Adebibe, 39.
