Michelle Trachtenberg was ‘in talks’ for revival of major TV show before tragic death

Before her tragic passing this week, Michelle Trachtenberg, a noughties icon, reportedly was in talks to join a sizable television series.
The Gossip Girl star was found dead in her home in Manhattan, New York City, on Wednesday. Authorities are not looking into the actress’ death because she passed away at the age of 39, and her death is not suspicious. Additionally, it is thought that a reported liver transplant may have caused her to develop complications.
The Euro Trip actress was confirmed dead after emergency medical services arrived at One Columbus Place in New York, according to authorities who responded to an emergency call at around 8am on Wednesday. She reportedly had discussions with the cast of the reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer prior to her tragic passing.
According to a recent source, “Michelle Trachtenberg was in talks to come back to Buffy the reboot,” and she was incredibly optimistic about it. In the fantasy series Dawn Summers, Michelle was most famous for playing her. The younger sister of the titular character Buffy (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar) is Dawn.
The insider claimed Michelle had been reunited with Sarah for the show and that Michelle’s friends were aware of her recent health issues. Speaking to MailOnline, they said: “They were hoping that, perhaps, casting her as Sarah’s sister in a reboot would help her overcome any issues she was having. No means were used to exclude her.
Her early roles included lead roles in children’s movies and TV shows, as well as her breakout breakout role in Harriet the Spy. She later gained notoriety as the shrewd and manipulative Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl, a role she played throughout the show’s six-season run, and gained popularity as a young actress for her portrayal of Dawn Summers, the younger sister of the titular heroine in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Her friends and co-stars have paid tribute to the actress. Buffy The Vampire Slayer actor David Boreanaz, who played Angel on the series, said he was “so very sad” as he paid tribute to co-star Michelle. A black and white version of Trachtenberg was used as a tribute to Instagram stories by the US actor in a post shared by a US news outlet. He wrote: “So very sad. Horrible news. RIP and prayers to her and her family”.
Her Gossip Girl co-stars, including Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, Blake Lively and close friend Taylor Momsen also paid tribute to the star.
