In response to the tragic wildfires in Los Angeles, Meghan Markle has posted a heartfelt video on Instagram.

As she discusses a young fire victim, The Duchess of Sussex appears almost moved as she talks about the fires.

Meghan begins by saying to the camera, “I was just told that something was coming that I had been anticipating.”

The former Suits actress then begins recounting the tale of how she and Prince Harry met a woman and her 15-year-old daughter, whose house had burned down, when the estranged royal pair paid a visit to Altadena, California, after the terrible Los Angeles fires.

Meghan said, “Her mother shared something with me and told me that all she had been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just left in the dryer or washing machine. When they came back to see their house for the first time, that’s as we were meeting them.

Below is a screenshot of the Instagram post:

Devastatingly, the mother and daughter’s home and washing machine and dryer have all been turned to ash, reports the Express.

Meghan made a heartfelt plea in the heartfelt video to support the young fan and her mother, and she thanked them.

She exclaims, “I made a voice note and said, please can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish,” and she recalls it in exuberance.

Revealing the fruits of her endeavour, she shows off signed memorabilia and a lunch box from the pop sensation, admitting: “You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means, but it’s signed for her”.

In a sincere sign-off, Meghan extends her thanks to those who pitched in to bring joy to the girl, saying: “Huge thank you, Billie Eilish. You guys helped get this over the line to everyone who shows up for people in large and small ways to get through what’s happened in California, and honestly, this is going to mean a lot to her.

She concludes with heartfelt appreciation: “Just thank you so much. I’ll send her an email soon. I just wanted to let you know about that.

The Southern California communities that have been impacted by the devastating wildfires have been supported by Prince Harry and Meghan.

Through their own Archewell Foundation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made donations and donated clothing, kids ‘ items and other essentials.

And they previously made a plea to followers with a heartfelt statement on their website, writing: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighbourhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life”.

The royal couple, who resigned from their position as a royal in 2020 to start a new life in the US, reside in Montecito, a luscious area of California.

On their Sussex.com website, they also posted a number of links to various charities that people can support, and urged people to “open their homes” to those who have been evacuated.
