Meghan Markle breaks silence after ‘disaster tourist’ backlash with emotional video

Since being called a “disaster tourist” and the obscene Vanity Fair article, Meghan Markle has since made her first social media appearance with a sincere new video.
The Duchess of Sussex expressed her excitement on Instagram by sharing a package she had just received for a teenage girl who, along with her family, had lost everything after the devastating wildfires that had swept her home. Meghan, who is makeup-free, explained how she met the 15-year-old girl while she was in Altadena, one of the worst-blighted areas in the world, and how she was particularly upset that she had lost her Billie Eilish T-shirt.
Meghan explains in the video that she managed to obtain some Billie Eilish merchandise with the help of her well-known pals, Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine, and his wife Behati Prinsloo.

The 43-year-old returned to Instagram on New Year’s Day but over the last few weeks, has not shared much on the platform. They were brutally referred to as “disaster tourists” when Meghan and husband Prince Harry assisted in a food distribution center for the fire victims. The couple then had to deal with a crude article in Vanity Fair magazine that made accusations about their relationship and even had complaints from their Montecito neighbors.
However, returning to Instagram, Meghan tells her followers: “I was just told that something arrived that I had been waiting for”. The former Suits actress then begins telling the story of how she met a woman and her daughter, who was burned down, at their home.
Meghan said, “Her mother shared something with me and told me that all she had been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just left in the dryer or washing machine. When they came back to see their house for the first time, that’s as we were meeting them.

However, all that had been in their house had been destroyed, so Meghan took it upon herself to get a new T-shirt for the young fan. She continued, “I made a voice note and said, “Please can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish,” adding, “I thought of everyone I knew.” After receiving the signed record and lunch box, she shows the camera the items that were ultimately sent to her. And she added: “You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means, but it’s signed for her”.
Ending the clip, she added: “Huge thank you, Billie Eilish. You guys helped get this over the line to everyone who shows up for people in large and small ways to get through what has happened in California, and honestly Adam Levine and Behati did it to her.

” Just thank you so much. I’ll send her an email soon. I just wanted to let you know about that. “Meghan posted the video with the caption:” Let’s keep supporting those affected by the California wildfires. Thanks to everyone who made this possible but most importantly, thank you to our first responders who are the community’s real heroes. As ever, Meghan. “
Following the fires that caused her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, which she had initially requested on her new Instagram account, was postponed. On March 4, it will debut on the streaming service.
