Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow put on defiant display amidst feud speculation

In a recent social media post, Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle have quieted feudal rumors. The Duchess of Sussex reposted a Gwyneth video on her Instagram account. Gwyneth responded to a fan-asked question sticker in the video. Are you aware of the Meghan Markle beef, according to social media, you two have?
Gwyneth once said, “I genuinely do not understand this at all.” Gwyneth posed the question, “Do you understand this?” to Meghan while filming her, and Meghan shrugged her shoulders and said she doesn’t. As they sat together at the table, the pair then laughed.
Gwyneth revealed her true feelings for Meghan after the Duchess received harsh criticism after the release of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, and how she planned to make friends with the ex-Suits actress.
An eight-part series, starring Mindy Kaling and her Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer, who played Dana “Scottie” Scott, was The Duchess of Sussex’s most recent partnership with the streaming service earlier this month.
A Netflix lifestyle series called With Love, Meghan debuted on March 4, 2025. Meghan made friends and famous people visits her California estate in each of the eight episodes. They collaborate on cooking, gardening, and hosting, sharing helpful advice and personal stories.

Meghan shared intimate details about her family life with husband Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as giving viewers a sneak peek at her favorite recipes throughout the series. However, Gwyneth and the Sussexes are close neighbors and live in Montecito, California, where they were compared to one another because of her lifestyle brand, Goop.
Gwyneth was unaware of the comparisons and even recently disclosed her plans to befriend Meghan and her husband, Harry, who announced their plans to move to California in 2020 and live more independently. In a recent interview, she said, “I don’t know Meghan and Harry.”
The Avengers actor continued to tell Vanity Fair, “I mean, I met Meghan, who seems incredibly lovely, but I don’t know her at all.” I might try to pass through their security detail and give them a pie. The actress admitted that there is no conflict between herself and the former actress, but at the time of the interview, she had not seen With Love, Meghan.

Gwyneth acknowledges that she has a “strong instinct to stand up for them” because of the “culture” they live in when she notices how similar other women are to herself. She continued, “I was raised to view other women as friends, not adversaries,” according to Vanity Fair. Meghan’s series has received a lot of negative reviews, but it’s thought the Duchess was left “devastated and hurt” by the negative reviews.
Gwyneth also sparked rumors of a fight after posting a makeup-free breakfast video where fans accused her of subtly “throwing shade” at Meghan. In her kitchen, Gwyneth filmed herself making scones, bacon, and eggs while wearing a pair of light-colored pyjamas and going makeup-free.
The song “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole, which was also used in Meghan’s own Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, was playing in the background. Some fans made a quick point about Paltrow’s video’s timing, which came shortly after Meghan’s series, which debuted earlier this month.
Many people speculated that Gwyneth was intentionally positioning herself as more real and relatable on X (previously Twitter). Gwyneth Paltrow continues to throw shade and amp; I’m here for it, according to a fan! She doesn’t use makeup in the kitchen!” Another fan noted the similarity in music choices.
