In order to concentrate on her health, Meghan McKenna has announced that she is deleting all social media accounts.

The 32-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex firecracker has admitted to suffering from a painful condition related to breastfeeding. The mum-of-one welcomed her baby son, Landon, who she shares with footballer fiancé Oliver Burke in October 2024.

The reality star stated on social media that she has a painful condition on her breasts on Saturday. She explained that she first developed mastitis, a painful condition that frequently links breastfeeding to the breasts.

Unfortunately, Megan’s condition eventually turned into an even more agonizing condition, and she is now attempting to recover from it with the aid of medication. Sharing her news in an Instagram Stories post, the TV star wrote: “Boob update. Although my mastitis has advanced past that point, it has now turned into an abscess.

She continued: “I’ve been so ill and out of bed the past two days. They tried to drain it today, but it didn’t, so they went back on Monday to try it once more. For now I’m on strong antibiotics. Let’s hope it clears”. She added a crying-face emoji to emphasise her pain and discomfort.

She further stated, “Will be off social media for a few days as I’m resting and trying to get better. I found it so annoying that I actually felt like I was regaining my mojo from working in my mother’s kitchen and other things. What can you do ey, Love you all”.

Mastitis is described by the NHS as: “when your breast becomes swollen, hot and painful. It is most prevalent in breastfeeding mothers, and it is typically untreated. They advise mothers that one boob may only be affected by the condition, which can suddenly develop.

A red patch or wedge-shaped breast lump, a persistent burning sensation in the breast, and any discharge from the nipple, especially if it contains blood are symptoms to watch out for. They warn that flu-like symptoms, such as aches, a high temperature, chills and tiredness, can also accompany the condition.

It is advised to seek medical help if symptoms do not improve 12 to 24 hours after treating it at home, or 48 hours after taking antibiotics, or if you get mastitis and you are not breastfeeding. Following her candid Instagram post-partum body-show, Meghan recently received an update.

The reality star proudly declared she was “out the other end of the sore nipples” while holding her baby boy in a mirror selfie with her. She acknowledged that breastfeeding was having an unhealthy impact on her body.

As she continues her journey to becoming a mother, Megan has been regularly providing updates to fans and revealed the discomfort she experienced while breastfeeding shortly after Landon arrived. It’s taking some time for the first days’ latch to heal, she told her social media followers. The day goes on, and I’m fighting through the razor blades. He is the best winder about his dad because he loves him so much, slept much better last night, and has had a few bad knicks.

She continued, “Thank you to every single person who messaged, commented, and sent love to us and Landon. Your words are so overwhelming to me. I’m recovering slowly, the swelling isn’t great and my feet look like shrek. But it’s all part of it”.
