Max George wrote a will from his hospital bed as he feared he would die within hours

Max George, the star of The Wanted, revealed his will after being hospitalized last year.

Before Christmas, Max, 36, was hospitalized after doctors discovered a heart irregularity. After being hospitalised, he broke the news to his girlfriend, Maisie Smith, 23, about what was happening while she was preparing to go on stage for work in Kent.

The singer detailed how he had a pacemaker fitted during the procedure, which lasted two and a half hours, and kept up with his fans on social media throughout the process. Thankfully, after the successful surgery, he was able to return home right before Christmas.

He was aided by his girlfriend Maisie throughout the recovery process and remained by his side all the way. The musician revealed in his first interview since leaving surgery that he had an iPhone and had written a will while in the hospital. He explained: “That first night I wrote a will, I thought I was going to die”.

Speaking to The Sun, he added: “If I could go from being absolutely on top of the world to being told ‘ the bottom part of your heart isn’t working’, I kept thinking in my head, ‘ Well, what if the top half stops working overnight? ‘” He continued to explain how the seriousness of the situation led him to accept “what your responsibilities are”

Thinking of his partner, his family and his ‘ two little nephews’, he wrote out a will. Max posted a photo of himself walking slowly on a treadmill this week on his Instagram page, giving fans a thumbs up. As he focused on his health, the star appeared determined.

The singer also posted a number of photos from his eventful year, including one of his stage performance, his surgery scar, his kiss with soap star girlfriend Maisie, and a photo from his hospital bed, where he claimed to be the youngest person by 30 years, when 2024 came to an end.

Alongside the images, Max emotionally shared with his 391, 000 followers on Instagram: “2024… Certainly a year I won’t forget! I feel so fortunate to live in this manner. I can’t wait for the next chapter, no matter what challenges lie ahead. I wish everyone an amazing night tonight.. and that 2025 brings you good health and the best year”!
