In the midst of a long-standing health issue, singer Max George has made a sincere vow to his fans.
The 36-year-old Wanted star spent weeks in the hospital shortly before Christmas after being discovered with a heart irregularity. He finally managed to return home after having a pacemaker fitted and having a successful operation. Max has been keeping his fans informed about his health and paused to reflect on his New Year’s resolutions.
He shared a photo of himself performing on stage, his surgery scar, a photo of his kissing partner Maisie Smith, and a photo of him from his hospital bed from 2024. Alongside the images, Max emotionally shared: “2024.. Certainly a year I won’t forget! I feel so fortunate to live in this manner. I can’t wait for the next chapter, no matter what challenges lie ahead.
” I wish everyone an amazing night tonight.. and that 2025 brings you good health and the best year! Max admitted to the hospital that he had a “block” in his heart and that the procedure took about two and a half hours. A scar on his collarbone, which is located just below his late bandmate Tom Parker’s birth tattoo, was shared by him.

Max and Maisie, his girlfriend, and their dog, have reconciled since returning home. As he revealed that he was returning to the hospital this week, Max issued a request for information on pacemakers. In a video message shared on Instagram, Max said:” Hey guys, hope you’re good. Just a little update and… well, actually, a question for those of you that have been in touch that have a pacemaker done.
“I’m in the hospital tomorrow for another checkup because my chest feels like it’s flicking.” I’m actually getting it now. And I was wondering if you guys, as doctors aren’t all that sure about it, knew what it might be or had it yourself.
He continued, “I’m all ears because all I’m doing right now is y’know doing research and stuff, cause I know nothing about pacemakers, and hopefully it will be… y’know maybe it’s touching a nerve and will go away in time, or they may have to move the wires slightly.” This completely unexpected occurred. Therefore, any help would be greatly appreciated. […] Thanks again guys”.
Sharing the news of his pacemaker last month, Max wrote: “Say hello to my little friend! This is the best Christmas present I could have ever wanted, given the last ten days. The game is in. Operation took around 2 and half hours. The main issue was that some of my veins had erupted where the wires were supposed to go. However, the NHS’s hospital surgeons, doctors, and nurses have been amazing.
” I owe everything to them. My pacemaker was kindly positioned just below my very special tattoo, thanks to the surgeon. So I’m sure it’s being looked after. Due to my lungs’ inflamed lymph nodes, there will be some extra testing, but it’ll be simple work! Time to relax and then resume life. Thank you for all your support. It’s meant a hell of a lot to myself and my family. “
