Max George gives health update as he shares glimpse into tough recovery from surgery
Max George, the star of The Wanted, has provided an update on his agonizing recovery from heart surgery.
Max was relegated to bed a month ago, but he now showed on his Instagram Stories that he is back on his feet and recovering from a full recovery. In his first post, he shared a clip of himself walking on a treadmill. The musician sat down and appeared to be wearing compression socks in addition to his loose shorts and tee. He shot his followers a huge smile as he turned the camera on his face and pumped his fist in the air.
In the next shot, Max revealed what had him so happy. His Apple watch showed his stats from the walk, showing that he’d been moving for over 70 minutes. The X Factor star had covered 5.04km in his walk, and had a 117 bpm, after previously facing scary issues with his heart.
Max was rushed to A&, E by his mum last month, concerned that something was wrong with his heart. In the end, the musician was correct, and he had a pacemaker fitted in a two-and-a-half hour operation after spending several weeks in the hospital. Thankfully, after the successful surgery, he was able to return home right before Christmas.
Max shared a photo of the enormous scar on his chest that was next to a tattoo showcasing his late bandmate Tom Parker’s birthdate shortly after the successful operation and the news of his pacemaker. Alongside the photo, Max wrote: “Say hello to my little friend! This is the best Christmas present I could have ever wanted, given the last ten days. The game is in.
” Operation took around 2 and half hours. The main issue was that some of my veins had erupted where the wires were supposed to go. However, the NHS’s hospital surgeons, doctors, and nurses have been amazing. I owe them everything. My pacemaker was kindly positioned just below my very special tattoo, thanks to the surgeon. So I’m sure it’s being looked after.
“Few more tests to do due to inflamed lymph nodes on my lungs, but that’ll be easy work! Time to relax and then resume life. Thank you for all your support. It’s meant a hell of a lot to myself and my family”.
Unfortunately, Max’s health battle is not yet over. The singer made it known earlier this month that he needed to have his lungs examined for enlarged lymph nodes. In order to discover what may have caused his life-threatening heart condition, Max explained that he would need a biopsy.
He shared: “The doctors have discovered enlarged lymph nodes on my lungs. This might indicate what may have caused my heart issues. In a few weeks, I need to have a lung biopsy. It sounds pretty gnarly. It might provide information on the origin of the problem.
