Maura Higgins shares true thoughts on Danny Jones kiss scandal as she responds to fan

After being caught kissing the married singer at a glittery bash, Love Island star Maura Higgins has finally revealed what she thinks of her feud with Danny Jones from McFly.
Maura Higgins has shown what she really thinks about her drunken kiss with McFly’s Danny Jones. The married singer, 39, was caught locking lips with Love Island’s Maura, 34, while at a late night BRIT Awards afterparty.
They have been wrapped up in scandal since video footage emerged as the kiss put strain on Danny’s marriage to former Miss England Georgia Horsley. Danny and Maura, who met on the latest series of I’m A Celebrity, were seen looking close at a glitzy party before heading onto the five-star Nobu Hotel in London for more drinks.
Since news broke of their kiss, Danny has issued a grovelling public apology to his wife while she moved out of the family home temporarily to spend time with her friends and “get away” from all that is going on. Maura also took a break and has yet to publicly address the scandal.
Instead, she opted to flee the UK and fly out to Los Angeles and Texas for work. She took part in a huge shoot for fashion brand Oh Polly and shared snaps from her getaway on social media. Despite painting a picture she has brushed off the scandal, sources have told The Mirror it has been a tough few weeks for the star.
Maura liked a fan comment on her most recent post, giving her own insight into her thoughts on being involved in the scandal. You are unreal, a follower wrote in support of Maura. Don’t listen to those who hat. “U are a diamond.”
According to a source, Maura was “in a bad way and really struggling” with The Mirror. They claimed that despite having a tough character, the reaction to events has been “utterly relentless,” and it’s fair to say that it has had a negative impact.
She has found it very challenging to navigate all of this. Although she appreciates being in the public eye and having more interest in her, people need to stop being so abusive. She makes an effort to maintain business as usual, but it’s difficult.
Georgia and Danny’s relationship is said to remain fragile, with the duo trying to work things through in private. There were reports Georgia had upped sticks and “moved out” of the family home to live with her friend Rose Mahon.
However, Georgia’s family members claimed that after a “very stressful few days, and was always coming home,” she wanted to “decompress.” According to a source, this wasn’t some grand gesture where she abruptly packed her belongings and left.
“It was just a girlie few nights at a close pal’s flat. Yes, she wanted some space, but she is home now, and while things are still fragile, they are trying to work things through.” Another source close to the couple also revealed: “The break has done Georgia a world of good.
She needed to clear her head by going outside the house and spending time with Rose Mahon. She and Danny have reached a point where they are still trying to reconcile.
Danny kept quiet in the week that followed the kiss, but later broke his silence on social media. Taking to Instagram, he said: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
My wife and family have been in this situation, so I sincerely apologize. We’ll continue to deal with this in private because I adore them so much. I appreciate you all’s patience, understanding, and support. Danny, I’ll see you soon.
A source close to Danny said after the incident: “Danny has been mortified about whats happened and the awful situation he has put everyone in. He cares so deeply about his family and hopes his words will draw a line under what has been a deeply upsetting time, for everyone.
“Georgia and his son are everything to him,” he said. He has been so appreciative of his fans’ support throughout all of this. He simply wants to get better and spend time with his family.
