Maura Higgins leaves BRITs afterparty with I’m A Celeb star as ex Pete Wicks sticks with rival

After avoiding cross-country visits with his ex-wife Maura Higgins, Pete Wicks was pictured staring blank as he left last night’s BRIT Awards afterparty.

The Only Way Is Essex lothario, 37, and the 34-year-old Love Island turned I’m A Celeb star ended their brief romance in mid-February. Just before Christmas, the Irish model, who had just returned from the Australian jungle, was photographed in his hotel and their romance, which was built on the strong foundation of a long-term friendship.

Pete and his pal Olivia Attwood, who he is rumored to be starting a podcast with, made their way to the O2 Arena. As she made her way down the carpet, the documentary maker had to rearrange herself in a stunning black dress with a long train detail.

Maura had also donned impressive attire, choosing a sheer gown over a delicate flower arrangement to cover her modesty.

After the partying had come to an end, Pete was seen leaving with Olivia and Sam Thompson, his best friend, who had just become single. As he made his way to a waiting taxi along with his pals, he looked stony-faced.

Maura and Danny Jones, the star of the show’s 2024 season, were seen leaving the show together.

Although it is reported that Maura was unhappy with the friendship between Pete and Olivia. However, a source later added that “Maura doesn’t have any issues with Olivia and will always make an effort to say hello if they ever are at the same parties or red carpet events.”

Whenever there has been a suggestion of a feud or competitiveness, Maura has always been perplexed. She obviously hopes the respect she feels for Olivia will be reciprocated because they are on separate paths and are not connected by careers.

Following a “numerous clashes,” Pete and Maura reportedly split on Valentine’s Day. According to a source, “Maura and Pete have chosen to end their romance.” After a few disagreements, it was eventually agreed that they would be better off as friends. They are very aware of the nature of the relationship, which is why they were initially so reluctant to make it public. They continue to be close and have a strong bond.

At the end of last year, Maura made hints about her romance to Pete during her time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

When asked if she was single, she responded, “Yes, but I was seeing someone before I entered. I’m not dating anyone. She admitted she wasn’t sure if she was in love, but she later said, “She said it was” different, “before adding: “But is it because we’ve known each other for a long time?”

Pete had also been open about how their friendship turned romantic, praising her as “super intelligent” ()!

Pete said, “Maura and I have known each other for a long time, I say, about six years, on Paul C. Brunson’s podcast. We both laugh a lot, and she is very intelligent, which is sometimes overlooked by other people about Maura.

She is incredibly funny, and we haven’t seen each other in a distance for the past six years because we have always been friends. We have essentially supported one another and provided whatever else.”
