Mass protests in Turkiye over arrest of Istanbul mayor

Ekrem Imamoglu, a key rival to President Erdogan, was arrested on corruption and terror charges, and thousands of Turkiye residents are protesting his arrest. The opposition’s claims that the government is “holding a coup” have been refuted by the government.
