‘Marks & Spencer’s £45 denim jacket is the only coat I’ll be wearing this spring’

Spring is so close to us now, officially under a month away, that if you haven’t begun looking for pieces to add to your spring wardrobe, now is the chance. I think I’ve found the perfect spring jacket, which will be the only coat I need for the new season.

The jacket comes from Marks & Spencer and is the Collared Relaxed Denim Jacket, £45. M&S have really been nailing it with their spring drops, and this denim jacket is no exception.

Although there are hundreds of denim jackets around, and a very popular spring layer choice, what I like most about this M&S one is the barn-jacket style design. It feels like M&S has given the classic denim jacket a stylish 2025 update with this piece.

Despite being an on-trend silhouette, it still feels like a timeless jacket that you’ll be able to keep in your wardrobe for the next few springs.

Workwear jackets are so popular this spring, and this jacket is perfect for giving that Carhatt-style look but for a fraction of the price. At only £45, I couldn’t believe how sturdy and high-quality the jacket felt when I tried it on. I also love the contrast collar that gives the piece a bit of twist from the usual denim jackets we see.

I tried the jacket on with a pair of light-wash denim jeans, and I think that’s one of the coolest ways to style it. I would swap out the light wash for a deeper shade to create a cool double denim look. You can then play around with some fun shoes and accessories to give the outfit some more personality.

I love the snakeskin bag teamed with the jacket on the website’s model shot. You could even style the piece with some trending cow print shoes.

Similar to the Marks & Spencer jacket, H&M has a Corduroy-Collar Denim Jacket, £44.99, that is in a slightly darker, indigo denim wash. Alongside this, Mango’s Jacket with Corduroy Collar Pockets, currently £59.99, that’s not quite so cropped and in a washed black hue.
