Mark Wright reveals real thoughts on becoming a parent with wife Michelle Keegan

Dad-to-be Mark Wright has opened up about becoming a parent for the first time with his wife, Michelle Keegan.

The happy couple announced they were expecting their first child in December and were showered with well wishes from their famous friends. One of the celebrities congratulating the parents-to-be was Mark’s pal, Olly Murs, who is hosting a new breakfast show with the TOWIE star on Heart Radio.

Lifting the lid on how he feels about parenthood as Michelle’s due date approaches, Mark, 38, said Olly had been giving him advice after the singer’s wife gave birth to their first child, daughter, Maddison, last year. Gushing he was “ecstatic” about becoming a dad, Mark said: “I’m extremely excited. I can’t wait for it to happen. I’m ecstatic.” Talking about his close friendship with Olly, he revealed that the two have been discussing what it’s like to become a father.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he continued: “He’s just been telling me how excited I should be, and it’s an amazing ride. I saw him in action as well when we went to the Euros. He’d just had a baby when we were in Germany, and he was telling me everything about it. He was so excited, and he just loves being a dad. He’s a great dad.”

Despite happily preparing for their baby’s arrival, Mark and Michelle’s pre-parenthood bliss was recently shattered when their Essex home was targeted by raiders. It was reported the couple were alerted to the incident after hearing a patio window being smashed, before security alarms started ringing. Four suspects targeted the palatial £3.5 pad and police have since launched a full investigation.

Thankfully, nothing was taken from the home and the suspects all scarpered within minutes after Mark’s quick thinking to protect his heavily pregnant wife. Michelle and Mark locked themselves in a bedroom after hearing the window being smashed. While the couple were left “very shaken” by the incident, both were reassured when local police officers arrived at the home in less than ten minutes after their advanced security alarms alerted law enforcements.

However, upon hearing the burglars, Mark’s first thought was to protect Michelle and their unborn child, sources claim. The reality star who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex, quickly started yelling at the four individuals from behind the locked bedroom door in a bid to scare them off.

“His first thoughts were for Michelle’s protection and he acted swiftly,” a source told The Sun. They went on to add: “It was a traumatic experience for both of them but they are relieved that neither of them were injured. Mark did the sensible thing and stayed with his wife to make sure she was ok and they waited for police to arrive before leaving the room.”
