Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract, until June 2030.
Although the club had the option of triggering a 12-month extension clause, the 22-year-old’s previous contract was set to expire at the end of the season.
However, United decided to give the Ivory Coast international, who has made six goals in 27 appearances this year, new terms.
“I am really proud to have signed this new contract. Diallo said, “I already have some incredible moments with this club,” but there are still many more to come.
“At Manchester United, I have great ambitions in terms of the game and I want to make history.”
Everyone has had a difficult time this year, but I fully trust that things are going to turn out really well and that the future will be very special. I’m prepared to give everything to help the team and resurrect the pride of our supporters.
Diallo, an Italian international who left Atalanta for Manchester United in 2021, has nine goals in 50 games.
” Everyone is delighted with Amad’s development, “technical director Jason Wilcox said.
He plays a key role in Manchester United’s future, citing his ability to play the ball, his versatility, and his resolve.
Diallo was only allowed to play for the club once in his first three seasons at Old Trafford, and he was then signed on loan to Glasgow Rangers for the 2019-20 season.
Diallo made 14 goals in 42 appearances for the Black Cats while on a season-long loan spell at Championship club Sunderland.
Despite several offers for the Ivorian, then manager Erik ten Hag opted to keep Diallo at the club for the 2023-24 season.
Diallo missed five months of play due to a knee injury, but he quickly made up for it by winning the FA Cup semi-final 4-3 against Liverpool at Old Trafford on March 17, 2024.
