Polly, the star of Married At First Sight, has criticised bodyshamers who made remarks after Adam purchased her lingerie for the series.

The actress has lost weight since leaving the program, but she was disgusted by the offensive comments made on social media. She posted a stunning mirror selfie wearing a blue lingerie set encouraging trolls to “be ashamed of themselves.” In response to the trolls, she raised her middle finger in response.

She captioned the post: “I’ve had a lot of positive comments about my weight loss (and many other positives) since the show has aired. But after watching last night’s episode, my God, I am absolutely horrified. The general public told me I’ve been insecure with myself for weeks, but lo and behold, you’re making me feel like I’ve never been. One of the worst things you can do is body shaming and making someone feel insecure who is already experiencing stress (no matter how they look now).

When you body shame someone online, others are paying attention. a friend who struggles to lose weight as a child, or a member of a younger family who has unrealistic body issues. Body shaming a person in the name of advising them to be a certain way or to make fun of someone’s size, is a form of sarcasm, and mentally hurtful. None of you are aware that I lost weight for my own reasons. Although body shaming causes horrendous extremes that I hope never to occur, I can assure you that it hasn’t helped with how I feel about myself despite losing so much weight.

The star continued:” Being skinny is ok. Not being skinny is ok. Having curves are ok. Not having curves is ok. It’s inappropriate to berate someone for their body. One of the most abhorrent things you can do to someone is absolutely doing it. And it’s even worse to do it online. You should all be so ashamed of yourselves.

“The next time someone body shames anyone, just remember you’re an AWFUL human being. Congratulations on making a young girl feel like she’s been s**t all over again, [kissy face emoji] Also, please stop asking how I lost weight because this is a question I find to be very personal and I’m sick of repeating it. Set is @annsummers – thanks hubby”.

In the most recent episode of the Channel 4 TV series, her husband Adam bought her lingerie. Since being matched, their relationship has fluctuated greatly, with Adam admitting that she wasn’t his type. However, as the weeks progressed, they began to gradually become closer. Polly recently revealed that she has lost about two stone since March of this year and has been working out.
