In a post on X, formerly Twitter, pop sensation Madonna addressed the return of President Donald Trump.
The 66-year-old took a selfie on the platform on Tuesday that showed herself staring into the camera while wearing a plump black hood, a sloping black leather top, and a ton of silver jewelry. She continued, “It’s so sad to see our new government slowly destroying all the freedoms we have fought for and won over the years.” She added a rainbow flag and broken heart emoji, and urged: “Don’t give up the Fight”!
In response to the post, many commenters raged against Madonna’s words, insulting her intelligence and appearance. Some, however, expressed their support, with one writing: “I love you Madonna. Thank you”.

The Queen of Pop’s involvement with the gay community dates back to her efforts during the 1980s AIDS epidemic. In uncovered tapes, she and her brother Christopher Ciccone were speaking about the tragic loss that had caused her and her brother to pass away in October of this year.
In addition to helping, she helped to pay for Martin Burgoyne’s medical expenses until his passing in 1986 at the age of 23, and even persuaded her then-beau Sean Penn to obtain experimental drugs from Mexico that gave a glimmer of hope against the relentless disease.
What could I do, Madonna said when she expressed her regret at her friend’s fate in The Times? I loved him. And people with AIDS are treated like they’re lepers or something. If they contract AIDS, all their friends disappear. That’s not a friend. Is it possible for me to desert him? He was really my best friend”.
In the unearthed recordings from her brother, which feature in the Sky documentary Becoming Madonna, Christopher speaks of his sister’s decision to dedicate her 1987 Who’s That Girl? tour to Martin’s memory, which helped rake in an incredible $400, 000 for the American Foundation for Aids Research. The Times quoted Christopher as saying, “Everyone felt the emotional strain that we caused at Madison Square Garden.” He added, “Especially for]Madonna], because of Martin. Our friends had a lot of AIDS, too.
Other celebrities who have expressed out against the new US administration have also been subject to criticism. Selena Gomez, a popular rock star, recently shared and removed a video of herself crying as she spoke out against Trump’s widespread deportations of undocumented immigrants. “All my people are getting attacked. The children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I would like to do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise”, she said as she cried.
She added a Mexican flag emoji to the video, and wrote: “I’m sorry”. According to People magazine, Selena wrote in another post on her Instagram Story: “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people”. In response to Selena’s words, U.S. Senate candidate Sam Parker demanded that the star’s grandparents have an undocumented trip to the United States. Selena soon removed the posts.
Parker shared her video and wrote: “Deport Selena Gomez. Due to her descent from Mexican illegals who were granted citizenship during the ’87 Amnesty, Selena Gomez chose illegals over Americans. She has an entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal g’parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too”? However, Selena showed she was staying strong despite the hate. Just hours after Parker’s wild claims, Selena issued a response on Instagram. The Disney child star wrote: “Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat”.
