Love Island’s Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott give wedding update three years after engagement

Three years after getting engaged, former Love Island stars Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott have updated their wedding plans, revealing that they are finally planning the day.
Former Love Island stars Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott have revealed they are finally ready to plan their dream wedding, over three years after getting engaged. Luke popped the question to Lucy in December 2021 during a trip to Finland, and the couple haven’t been putting pressure on their big day.
But revealing a recent trip to Canada has sparked some wedding inspo for the couple, they told Mirror, “We’ve had a long engagement which has been lovely as it has given us time to really think about our dream day. We now know exactly what and I think going on this trip really sparked some more inspiration for our wedding plans.”
Lucie appeared on Love Island in 2019 alongside stars such as Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury – whom she famously had a romance with in the villa. While Luke was on the show a year later in 2020, and was coupled up with Demi Jones. After both failing to find love in the ITV2 villa, Luke and Lucie began their relationship in July 2020.
Luke proposed 17 months later in front of the Northern Lights during a holiday to Finland, revealing the news via Instagram as he wrote: “Mrs Mabbott to be. The northern lights made an appearance for the perfect moment to pop the question. A night we will never forget.’

And this month, Lucie and Luke have taken a fantastic trip to Whistler, British Columbia, where they spent a week enjoying a week of skiing, zip lining, and other activities like making cocktails.
And describing the trip – which was with Crystal Ski Holidays – as ‘magical’, the couple said, “We’re both so passionate about snow sports and doing it as a couple is something we have shared the love for since we got together, so to do this trip together was magical.”
Luke and Lucie’s wedding plans have been put on hold due to the couple’s busy schedules renovating their Cornwall home, which was built in 1879.
Luke has been personally assisting with the renovations on Love Island before coming to prominence.
The couple’s renovations are now in full swing and are still working. Lucie previously documented her Cornish cottage renovation via Instagram, so it’s not their first project either.
