Love Island 2021: AJ and Danny are DUMPED from the villa in double elimination after being voted out by their fellow islanders in brutal twist… as three new bombshells cause a stir
AJ and Danny were dumped from the villa during Wednesday’s explosive show.
The nail-biting start to the show saw their fellow islanders deciding their fate after the they, alongside four others, were received the fewest amounts of votes from viewers.
And after much deliberation, the pair – who were the newest islanders – were told that they would be going home after just a few days, just as three new bombshells arrived to cause a stir in the villa.
The duo looked gutted as their fate was delivered with Hugo breaking the news to AJ just days after friendzoning her.
Speaking in the beach hut, Jake declared that he’s miss the plumber, while Kaz told how AJ lights up the villa.
Meanwhile, opening up about his exit, Danny said afterwards that he ‘enjoyed every minute of it’ and that he was now ‘itching to get home’.
While AJ said of pursuing Hugo in the villa: ‘I followed my heart, I thought it was right decision.’
Discussing any potential romance between them following their kiss, Danny told how there was ‘definitely a connection there’, while AJ remained coy as she said: ‘We’ll see what happens’.
Following the dumping, Love Island viewers soon took to Twitter to share their thoughts on their exits, with many not surprised that Danny and AJ left.
‘AJ and Danny going home. That was the biggest anti climax in the history of reality tv’, questioned one viewer.
‘Feel bad for AJ and Danny. It’s not fair. They never got a chance’ shared a second watcher.
‘Oh, that’s Danny and AJ soon forgotten about then’ tweeted a third person.
A fourth penned: ‘What a surprise AJ and Danny left, definitely didn’t see that one coming
A fifth said: ‘I don’t like Danny but I hate the fact that they didn’t even give the new people (specifically AJ) an actual chance but Lucinda, Toby, Chloe and Hugo have been given chance after chance.’
With another adding: ‘So glad Danny and Aj are gone but let’s be honest it was hardly a ‘shock’ dumping. Do better Love island.’
Elsewhere, minutes after Danny and AJ’s exit, three newcomers strolled into the villa and wasted no time in making their intentions clear.
Georgia was quick to make her move on Hugo, with the marketing executive, 28, gushing that the teacher, 26, is ‘the one’ during her first chat with the group.
Speaking in the Beach Hut, she later said: ‘It was important that I spend some time with him today to make sure my preconception of him married up with how he was.
‘He was just as polite and eloquent as I thought he would be so that’s great.’
Meanwhile, Liberty was keen to know who Tyler had got his eye on, to which he coyly replied: ‘You’ll probably tell her!’
And after Kaz joined the chat, she and Tyler seemed to get on like a house on fire as they discussed star signs and what they were looking for in a relationship.
Meanwhile, Abigail laid it on thick with Toby, making it very clear that she liked him.
And with Toby sharing a cosy chat with the stunner, his partner Chloe was none-too-pleased, especially after Toby failed to reassure her after she landed in the bottom three the previous night.
It comes after Love Island fans were left in uproar on Tuesday night as the show ended on yet another cliffhanger as the fate of six islanders hung in the balance.
The islanders were left reeling as a text revealed that viewers were voting for their favourites, with the boy and girl receiving the least amount of votes facing elimination from the villa.
But as Lucinda, Chloe, AJ, Teddy, Danny and Toby awaited the result, the show suddenly came to an abrupt end, leaving fans enraged as one remarked it’s ‘getting pretty predictable now’.
The islanders had been enjoying a 70s themed party, but the shenanigans were soon interrupted when a text ordered them all to the fire pit.
It was then revealed that the public had been voting for their favourite boy and girl, with those receiving the least amount of votes up for the chop.
The girls Lucinda, Chloe and AJ heard their names called, shortly followed by Teddy, Danny and Toby, with all six having to stand at the front.
Another text then revealed that their fellow islanders would decide which boy and which girl would leave the villa tonight.
Following the shock turn of the events, the next episode teased the arrivals of three new bombshells set to shake up the villa.
The newcomers are Abigail Rawlings, 27, Georgia Townend, 28, and Tyler Cruickshank, 26, with each of them set on who they want to get to know in the villa.
Ahead of making her debut on the show, tattoo artist Abigail told of her plans to take Toby from Chloe, saying: ‘I really like Toby – I’m going to steal him from Chloe at the first chance I have’
She added: ‘If that doesn’t work out, I like Teddy as well and Aaron’.
The stunner admitted she’s confident she will cause plenty of drama in the villa when she meets the other islanders.
She said: ‘Even if I didn’t go in with the intention of stirring things up, it’ll happen regardless.
‘I’m here for a relationship. I’m not scared of commitment at all. I seem to enjoy life more when I’m with someone, someone to do stuff with.’
Meanwhile, Georgia admitted that she has her eye of PE teacher Hugo, revealing: ‘He is my absolute number one and I can’t wait to get to know him.’
She added of her long-time single status: ‘I’ve been single for a really long time. Five years. I haven’t done the maths but it’s at least that. I feel like I’ve exhausted all the other options on how to meet people. ‘
While Tyler also hinted that he wants to get to know Kaz, stating: ‘Kaz, she just looks like she has so much energy about her.
‘You kind of need it if you’re surrounded by people all the time. If you were feeling down, Kaz would be the person to uplift you.’
He said of his other interest Faye: ‘Faye, she’s a fiery-ish sort of character. She sticks up for her friends and for herself. I don’t think there’ll ever be a dull moment with her.’
Love Island continues Thursday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
