Kate Cassidy, Liam Payne’s girlfriend, has heartbreakingly revealed that she still calls his phone but is unable to take his music to heart.
In Buenos Aires, Argentina, Liam tragically passed away in October after falling from the third floor of a hotel. One Direction’s funeral was held in Buckinghamshire one month later. Before his tragic passing, Kate and Liam traveled to Argentina to see their former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert after they started dating in October of 2022.
Kate revealed why she left Liam in Argentina for the first time in the history of public speaking since his tragic passing. She confessed to Liam that she never anticipated anything, and that they lived “own separate lives.” In her interview, Kate spoke about Liam in the present tense before trying to correct herself.

“When we’re away from each other, we’re not really the clingiest when it comes to messaging… it wasn’t super-constant”, she told the Sun. Kate heartbreakingly admitted to still ringing Liam’s voicemail on his phone. Kate used to sleep sound asleep listening to his songs after his death, but she is now unable to play any of them. She confessed: “Maybe one day, but not right now”.
Kate described their relationship as “hopeful,” saying goodbye to her late boyfriend in a heartfelt post on social media. She remarked, “A few weeks ago, we sat outside and manifested our lives together. Even though you instructed me not to look at it, I keep your note a secret. It said: ‘ Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged and together forever 444. Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way that we planned. You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel. We’ll be with you wherever I go for the rest of my life and the rest of my life. Forever yours, Katelyn, 444”.
Kate explained “444” is the number of angels. On her Instagram she said: “More often, you will see the number 444 when you are feeling down. Simply put, the number 44 serves as a reminder that you can count on your angels to support you forever. You’ll feel reassured that the angels are protecting you and loving you when you see this number.
Kate travelled to England to attend Liam’s funeral service at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, with the support of her friend Damian Hurley. She remained in the country after the funeral, and while she was in London, she started to cry. Due to Liam’s absence, Kate had chosen to return to the couple’s Miami home on October 14th, which Kate had planned to do as he had stayed behind to renew his US visa.
She claimed that it was starting to feel a little too long to hang out in the country on social media. In a video she posted a TikTok before Liam died, Kate said: “I was so ready to leave. I love South America, but I detest staying too long there. Our scheduled five-day trip turned into two weeks, and I was like, “I need to go home. “
