Liam Payne’s son, Girls Aloud’s Cheryl, has been a secretive person his entire life, and he is celebrating his first birthday without his famous father.

Bear, the son of Cheryl and Liam Payne, is now eight years old.

Liam Payne’s young son Bear is heartbreakingly marking his first birthday without his famous dad. The One Direction singer tragically died in October last year aged 31 after a fatal fall from a hotel balcony.

The singer fell from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with his death rocking the showbiz world. His ex Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of their son Bear, paid a devastating tribute to Liam as she described his death as an “earth shattering event”.

Cheryl recalled that “Liam was more than just a pop star and celebrity; he was also our son, brother, uncle, friend, and father of our son, who was 7 years old.” A son who is now faced with the reality of never seeing his father again. A sweet picture of Liam and their son was also shared by the former X Factor judge.

Bear was born at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London on March 22, 2017. Announcing the birth of his only son at the time on Instagram, Liam wrote: “My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless… wow!”, as he basked in his new fatherhood.

While Liam and Cheryl broke up shortly after Bear’s first birthday, the pair continued co-parenting and even though the singer wasn’t with his son constantly, he always made sure he was provided for.

In 2019, he helped Cheryl pay for a home in a Buckinghamshire village where the Girls Aloud star raised Bear alongside her mum Joan. Liam later bought himself a property nearby so he could remain close to the pair.

Liam and Cheryl made the decision to keep their son out of the public, but they only occasionally shared images of him on social media. Cheryl described her parenting style as “the strict one” while Liam was “much softer” than her, giving insight into their various parenting personalities.

Bear’s mother and Cheryl revealed that he had developed a strong Geordie accent after spending his early years with the native Newcastle star and her mother when he was first shown on video talking in 2020.

The boy, who was three at the time, requested a visit to a nearby park in the video, which resembles northerner Cheryl in that regard. Cheryl gushed about Bear’s singing and performing talent as he grew older and revealed that he was taking after his parents in more ways.

Bear was pictured with his mother during a soundcheck for the Girls Aloud tour in May, a eponymous photo that his mother shared last year. In the photo, Cheryl poses with Bear in her hand as she gets ready for her band’s Sheffield Arena performance.

Bear, a photo of his son looking at a billboard with his father on it, was posted by Liam in March. The image’s caption reads, “I want to be on a billboard one day, daddy.” Fans were shocked to see how grown-up Bear was in the photo, who had thick brown hair like his mother.

Bear just realized that his parents were well-known after Cheryl’s steps in an effort to get him out of the media spotlight and have a “normal” childhood in place of that in 2023.

The mother acknowledged that being concerned about people recognized her son on the street. The singer claimed, “I want Bear to have a normal childhood. On the street, I don’t want people to recognize him. However, he believes that I am well-known. He said, “How fortunate am I to have famous parents,” the other day. It doesn’t matter, I said. He says, “Yes. But it’s still pretty cool. ” “

In a heartbreaking video shared as he celebrated his 31st birthday in August this year, Liam said he was excited to spend some time with Bear, describing his son as his “mini me”. Liam said: “I didn’t get any dad socks yet thought. I’m going to speak to my son in a little bit which I’m really excited about. Bless him. He’s getting so big now. He’s a big boy and he looks like a mini me. As if we needed any more me in the world.”

Simon Cowell described Bear as being very similar to his father in a tribute to his late father. Simon and Liam first connected through the X Factor, charting his rise to fame as a member of One Direction, and Simon shared a close relationship with him.

Bear, you and I have met. He notices your smile and the twinkle in your eyes, Simon wrote. He’ll be so pleased with what you accomplished. And how you went about doing it, he continued.

The child will inherit his father’s fortune, which is thought to be worth £46 million, after his tragic passing. Some of Liam’s friends claim that the 1D star had made arrangements “some years ago” to ensure that his only child would receive his inheritance in the event of his passing.

The singer kept in touch with bear via video calls on FaceTime despite traveling frequently thousands of miles apart because he spent a lot of time in America. According to an insider, Liam had some incredibly intelligent people around him for a while and adored Bear so much. He had a strong desire to help him financially. Bear will never want anything, but he will at least benefit from it, which is a small consolation.

It’s tragic that they never had a strong father-son bond, said another Liam friend. It is terrible that Liam was there, a lost soul, on his own, thousands of miles away from home. He would call Bear frequently, they exchange messages, and Liam would always be interested in seeing Bear.
