Liam Gallagher fronts the new Berghaus launch and you can still shop the iconic waterproof jacket
With their sell-out tour coming up next year, Oasis are going to blow everyone away, and Liam Gallagher has recreated one of his most recognizable stage looks, the Berghaus jacket, in honor of their return to the stage. Sir Chris Bonington, the legendary British mountaineer who climbed Everest 40 years ago, and Alan Hinkes OBE, the first British mountaineer to summit all of the world’s mountains over 8000 meters high, both wore one when they were first spotted in the new Berghaus Icons campaign alongside Liam.
However, when Liam wore one on stage in Oslo on the night of the first of Oasis’ European leg of the Be Here Now tour in 1997, he took the brand in a new direction. Berghaus and Liam have teamed up once more to bring the essential jacket back to the forefront of fashion, ready for Oasis’ brand-new tour with the launch of the new Icons campaign.

Liam mentioned using the Berghaus Trango as a fashion statement in the late 1990s while taking the photos for the campaign while wearing one of the brand’s most instantly recognisable and iconic jackets.
He claimed that Noel and my brother Noel were the first people I spoke to who used Berghaus. In the late 1980s, he bought a green one, and I would frequently sneer at him. I was in a rush to purchase one of my own because they were all the rage. I said to myself, “When I’m rich and famous, I’m getting one.” That’s when I finally got it right, and I still have it today. It means a lot to me to work with them on their comeback.
Berghaus released a 14-piece collection in August in a bid to reclaim its position as one of the best British streetwear companies in a partnership with Palace Skateboards. The new collection features re-works of some of its staple pieces, including the Trango, £400, Merapeak, £320, and Lumley, £275, jackets, and good news for fans – you can still snap up all three.
Each of the iconic jackets come in several different colours, and are not only a top choice style-wise – they’re also perfect for the autumn weather. Each one is waterproof, with both the Trango and Merapeak made from Gore-tex material, which keeps you completely dry even in torrential downpours and lasts forever.
Hydrodown, which is used to keep you toasty and warm, is used to make the Lumley jacket. To ensure the most comfortable and cozy fit, all three have snap pockets, hoods, and adjustable points.
Liam has also recently been spotted in another top notch waterproof, wearing the Snow Peak Indigo C/N Parka, £659, and a pair of Sealskinz Amner Waterproof All Weather Ultra Grip Gloves, £45, to walk his dog back in September.
