Almost a month after Mudashiru Obasa was removed as the House’s Speaker, the Lagos State House of Assembly has resumed plenary.
The embattled former speaker, who was impeached over issues of alleged financial misconduct, and abuse of office was absent at the plenary.
But about 36 lawmakers were present.
Abiodun Tobun, a member for Epe Constituency, praised the Federal Government’s economic policy, claiming Lagos’ level of insecurity has been kept to a minimum.

Tobun also moved a motion to request that the House publish a letter of appreciation to the president for the Federal Government’s impactful initiative.
On his part, the lawmaker representing Eti-Osa constituency II, Gbolahan Yishawu,  , also reeled out various initiatives introduced by the Federal Government, alongside other lawmakers.
Speaker of the House, Mojisola Meranda, joined in applauding President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in his leadership.
According to her, the President has approved loan access for small-scale businesses, and the stock market capitalisation is growing. These, she claimed, show that Nigeria is moving in the right direction.
She praised First Lady Remi Tinubu for her commitment to the development of Nigeria and noted that President Tinubu is also investing heavily in security to ensure the safety of Nigerians.
