After serving a six-year driving ban, Katie Price made an open letter to her about getting back on the road.
After she crashed her BMW on September 28, 2021 near her Horsham home, the former glamour model was previously given a two-year driving ban. The 47-year-old was also handed a 16-week suspended jail sentence for drink-driving.
In March of last year, Price was found guilty of driving without insurance and a valid driver’s license at Northampton Magistrates’ Court despite being prohibited on the roads.
She avoided jail, however, and was slapped with a £880 fine. She made it known on social media in September that she was awaiting the delivery of her driver’s license so she could resume driving. Not for the first time was she subject to a road ban.
The Katie Price Show star discussed the cost of getting back on the road in a recent episode of her podcast with her sister Sophie. She said to her sister: “New year, new start manifesting, already good stuff has happened. jobs are on my way, but getting back to driving is what matters most.
Due to the problem with DVLA and people emailing in, I now have my license back two years after it should have been. I got my licence back but I couldn’t get insured on any of the cars – it was going to cost be £150k a year, £7k a month, who’s going to pay that, that’s ridiculous. “
She continued:” So I went to rent a car, I could rent a car and pay £1, 600 a month to rent a car and I thought ‘ oh let’s just see if I can get insured on my car ‘ and it went through. I’ve now got normal insurance for £800 a year – fully comp and I’m so happy. “Earlier this month, she had one of her bankruptcy’s discharged as she faced a hearing to settle her finances.
Despite having an estimated £45 million fortune as a result of her modelling career, book deals, and television appearances, the TV personality has twice been declared bankrupt. In a rare admission, Katie said she blames” lawyers and ex-husbands “for blowing a staggering £100million. She told The Sun:” I’ve had a roller-coaster life — some dark times, some amazing times. But I’ve got experience now, and am in control. I need your help to restore my empire.
Men have let me down, saying that “my career has always been good and men have let me down.” I’ve picked the wrong men. They’ve been toxic or given me mental abuse, physical abuse, narcissistic behaviour, gaslighting, jealousy. I got used to that. I couldn’t spot a red flag”.
