Most people agree that Katie Price is a devoted mother to her eldest son Harvey, despite the fact that she has a diverse opinion.
Harvey, 22, has Septo-optic Dysplasia, autism and Prader-Willi syndrome, which means he lives at a college that can provide him with round-the-clock care. Katie, 46, recently told her Katie Price Show podcast her son had sent her a heartbreaking message: “Hey mummy, I don’t like to stay at college because I’ve got a bad cough, because I am so bored to stay at college mummy. I detest going to college because I can’t stop crying and feeling sad.
Although Harvey’s biological father has complex needs, the former glamour model has never spoken publicly about the challenges of raising her disabled son. The mum-of-five says former international and Premier League footballer Dwight Yorke, 52, doesn’t maintain contact with her eldest child.
Katie allegedly found out that Dwight had cheated when she was briefly dating him. Their relationship ended abruptly. When she learned that the sportsman had been having lingerie parties with other women, the model described how she felt during a photo shoot.
During a 2009 interview, Dwight addressed the allegations, admitting he wasn’t the ‘ perfect partner’. “I think anyone who’s in a relationship would like their partner to be faithful and I’m saying I wasn’t the perfect partner, she knows that”, he said. Throughout the rest of her pregnancy, the two conflicting partners battled over paternity, with Dwight denying it until a paternity test revealed otherwise. The footballer did go to the hospital to see his son, and he also listed his name on the birth certificate while attempting to get Harvey to take his surname.
However, his visits with his son became few and far between, with Dwight admitting: “It is a combination of different things, one my time schedule and being based up in Manchester and a footballer on an everyday basis. I’m not going to pretend to be a perfect father; I’ve made mistakes along the way and I’d love to turn the time back. However, he painted a completely different picture of his feelings for his son in his own book, Born To Score, which was published the same year.
“From the moment I set eyes on the little fella, I have loved my son like I could never ever have imagined possible”, he wrote. I won’t find it more difficult to explain to me that I didn’t care about Harvey, that I understood his needs, or that I didn’t care about his well-being.
” Over the years I have heard Katie saying how]Peter] Andre is Harvey’s dad and what a terrible, uncaring father I have been, all of which sticks in my throat. Perhaps I could have taken a much more proactive role if she hadn’t made life so difficult for me.
At the time, Katie’s then-husband Peter Andre wanted to adopt Harvey, but Dwight was furious and wrote that he wanted to” throttle “him. However, Katie asserted that Dwight and Harvey had no romantic relationship five years later. She wrote in her 2014 autobiography:” The last time Harvey’s biological father Dwight Yorke saw him, which was around eight years ago, the first thing he asked was why was Harvey so big. Why did I give him too much?
“I’ve explained Harvey’s condition to him numerous times to Dwight, but he refused to acknowledge it and continued to talk about being fat. It saddens him that he can’t or won’t work within his limitations and accepts Harvey for who he is. Dwight may have intended to blame someone for his son’s disability on that occasion.
I’ve always said that Dwight would enjoy being with Harvey because he could see what a brave and gifted boy he is. Katie remarked that she has contacted Dwight numerous times over the years, insisting that it is never too late to be in their son’s life.
Katie shared a number of baby photos with Dwight in November 2018 as she acknowledged the difficulty of raising a child with complex needs. In December 2019, Katie claimed Harvey didn’t deserve it because she shared a heartbreaking video of her son asking his father. In a more desperate plea, Katie claimed.
When asked who he would want to write a message to on Instagram by Katie, Harvey replied:” Daddy Dwight. “” I love you Daddy Dwight. You look beautiful, “added Harvey when asked what he would say.
Katie then wrote to her two million followers in the caption:” Anyone who knows @Officialdwightyorke19 please get him to contact his son Harvey doesn’t deserve this, he sees his other son Tiger so I don’t understand! He supports various children’s charities, but he doesn’t see or give back to his own son. I don’t get it! “
After allegedly missing contact for years, Katie made drastic plans to meet Harvey in 2020. Chatting with pal Mel, Katie said:” What I would like to do is turn up at his dad’s place – Dwight Yorke’s – ring the doorbell and be there with Harvey, for him to see Harvey. I’m going to do that, and I’m going to do that. I think Dwight should start entering Harvey’s life, it’s been years. “
Katie continued, “I would love Dwight to come into contact with Harvey,” accusing Dwight of having not seen his son since he was four. How is it possible to not like Harv? He’s so funny. Katie revealed in her book that she had spoken to Harvey over the phone on his tenth birthday, and that she was shocked when it happened. When Harvey asked, “When am I seeing you,” Dwight must have been even more shocked. ‘, “she said.
Katie claimed that Dwight last appeared to her at a restaurant in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, in 2012. They spoke about what Harvey had said on the phone, then Dwight told her he didn’t want to be in Harvey’s life.

Despite Dwight not stepping up, it was revealed by Harvey’s maternal grandmother, Amy Price, that his agent has enquired about his son numerous times. In Katie’s 2021 book, Amy said: “I think it’s sad that Dwight isn’t in Harvey’s life. My agent and his agent have always spoken to me.
” If Harvey isn’t well, she’ll message me and ask how he is. But Dwight never asks himself. “The year prior, Harvey was hospitalised and was really poorly in intensive care, and Dwight’s agent rang Amy to ask” how bad he was”.
” I said, ‘ Look, this has got to stop now. If Dwight wants to know about Harvey, he’s got our number and he should ring us himself’, “Amy wrote”. He shouldn’t be going through his agent. It’s about time he took some responsibility. But we’ve heard nothing from Dwight, which is a shame.
Due to the addition of another son, Dwight has a relationship with his brother, which is also missing. We always had a positive relationship with Dwight, so it’s truly a shame.
