After receiving cancer treatment last year and undergoing remission, The Princess of Wales took her closest and dearest on a relaxing ski trip.

Kate Middleton, 43, revealed last week that she was focussing on her recovery, while gradually returning to her royal duties as she adjusts to her “new normal”. After having extensive abdominal surgery in January of last year, the mother-of-three made the diagnosis known in March 2024.

Now, a year later, and after undergoing preventative chemotherapy, the princess is officially in remission, and has taken some time out to enjoy quality time with her family. Heading to the Alps, Kate was joined by her husband, Prince William, and her three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

The family is said to have spent Christmas in the UK before escorting the family’s Sandringham Estate home with some Middleton family members shortly after. After enjoying the panoramic views while having a meal together, Kate and her family spent time at a well-known mountain-top restaurant, where they had hot drinks the morning.

Kate and her family have a long history of hiking in the French Alps (PA).

Following her cancer remission news (PA), The Princess had much-needed downtime.

It was lovely to see Kate relaxing and having fun, a staff member said Sunday. They looked like a normal English family, and a lot of people didn’t recognise them. Not for the first time have we seen them. They have visited this location for a long time. They adore the area, in my opinion. We often see Kate’s sister Pippa as well”.

According to the paper, the family had visited the popular dining spot La Cave des Creux, in Courchevel, in the French Alps. The restaurant has an outdoor fire, excellent food, and views of Mont Blanc and the Three Valleys ski resort from the terrace.

Following a visit where she was photographed embracing current patients, Kate thanked The Royal Marsden treatment facility for caring for her despite her cancer diagnosis. The princess announced that she has taken on a new position as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden in a heartfelt message shared on social media.

She wrote on X and wrote, “I wanted to thank The Royal Marsden for taking care of me so well over the past year. Thank you all so much for quietly walking with William and I through the process. We couldn’t have asked for more. Outstanding care and guidance have been given to us throughout my time as a patient.

” In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, my hope is, that by supporting ground-breaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer.

“It is wonderful that I am now in remission, and I continue to focus on recovery.” Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer will be aware that moving to a new normal takes time. However, I’m anticipating a prosperous year ahead. There is a lot to look forward to. Everyone in particular appreciates your continued support. A C indicates that the princess had sent a personal message to the recipient.
