John a major doubt for Wales’ Six Nations opener
WillGriff John, a Wales prop, is a major doubt for Friday’s Six Nations opener against France in Paris.
After missing the field in the first half of Sale Sharks’ 32-23 home English Premiership defeat on Sunday, the 32-year-old was denied a head injury assessment.
John is one of three tight-head props in Warren Gatland’s squad alongside Cardiff’s Keiron Assiratti and Henry Thomas of Scarlets.
However, Wales is averse to wearing the number three because Leon Brown recently retired and Bath’s Archie Griffin is unable to play after having shoulder surgery.
John hasn’t played for Wales since 2021, and he only made four more starts this season for the Sale with four more starts in place of his previous ones when he faced Bath.
