Janette Manrara’s family has been traveling with her on Strictly Come Dancing.
Wynne, 53, has previously come under fire for making vile remarks toward Janette during a photocall at the Strictly launch show, according to reports. When Janette, the tour’s host, approached the group, he was filmed making an inappropriate sexual remark to her.
He was heard singing: “Go Compare”, before adding: “Not too close to Jamie]Borthwick]”. Then, in reference to a lewd sexual act, he was later heard using the demeaning term “spit roast.” It wasn’t long before Wynne confirmed his departure from the live tour, with the star saying in a statement: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.
” I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. I’m sorry to those who won’t be able to see the remaining performances, and I’m appreciative of my fellow tour members’ continued support.
Despite the incident, she chose to focus on quality family time with her husband, Aljaž Škorjanec, their daughter Lyra, and her mother, Maritza, who had travelled from Miami to join them. Maritza and Janette’s brother, Alejandro, accompanied them on the UK tour to assist with Lyra’s care.
On social media, Janette expressed her gratitude for her mother’s support during this difficult time, which allowed Janette to keep her professional responsibilities while keeping Lyra well looked after.
She wrote on Instagram, alongside a collection of snaps from the outing:” “This is a special post for my mother @stepby2designs who has really helped us out these past 2 weeks. Being a working parent meant the world to me because it really takes a village. Without her coming and making sure Lyra was well and looked after, I would not be performing shows and entertaining audiences.
They have been really able to bond over the past two weeks, along with her surprise visit from her uncle (my brother @fizzymanrara), and it’s even more special because they don’t get to spend time together. My heart was full. Mom, I love you, I appreciate you, and I cannot wait to see you again soon. “
In response to the controversy, Wynne Evans issued an apology and decided to take a break to prioritise his well-being, with support from his partner, Katya Jones.
At the beginning of the following week, the BBC reportedly had discussions with Wynne regarding the spitroast comment, which was directed at dancer and presenter Janette. The BBC would like to “pull up the floorboards,” according to a source, and ask if there is anything else to say besides “the spitroast comment.” They intend to sit Wynne down and speak with him directly about his conduct.
The meeting is scheduled for the first week of next week, but they are aware that Wynne is really struggling with everything and that they will give him as much time as he needs. Evans had to leave the tour in a “bad way,” according to the same source, who also confirmed this. He worries fervently about losing his job.
