Jamie Laing issues emotional update as he recovers from gruelling ultra marathon challenge

Jamie Laing, a Made in Chelsea star and BBC Radio 1 host, has completed his grueling ultra marathon challenge for Comic Relief.
Reality TV star Jamie Laing has thanked all his fans for their support with an emotional statement after completing his Comic Relief challenge. He raised an impressive £2,053,835 this week having ran five ultra marathons in just five days.
The BBC Radio 1 host and former Made in Chelsea cast member, 36, crossed the finish line in Salford on Friday evening after setting off on Monday morning to tackle the 150-plus mile run. Jamie, who began the run at London’s Broadcasting House, was cheered on by a crowd of supporters as he ended his Ultra Marathon Man challenge in the northern city, where Red Nose Day was filmed.
Wife Sophie Habboo was on hand as he crossed the finish line and his radio co-star Greg James even ran alongside him in a wedding dress as he helped get Jamie’s total over the £500,000 mark. There was doubt whether he would complete the five ultra marathons due to injury.
Jamie was due to appear on ITV’s Lorraine in the morning but was forced to pull out after falling behind in his progress in the challenge. He did manage to complete the challenge, and was triumphant on the Comic Relief stage on Friday night, even if he was limping from his marathon injuries.
Jamie posted an emotional post from the previous few days on social media shortly after the challenge was completed. Where to begin is almost unavoidable, he said, “Right here goes, this will be a long one.
“I’m going to start with the entire team, @bbcradio1 @comicrelief,” everyone. You have no idea how things work, such as the catering, physio, logistics, mapping, planning, socials, and the balance of the moments. There was no mistake, no mistake at all, and the entire experience was completely mind blowing.
That demonstrates effective teamwork and leadership. Thank you to everyone who kept me inspired, enthusiastic, and passionate every day. Wow, you welcomed me with open arms and accepted me from day one, to my @bbcradio1 family. Words cannot express how thankful I am for you! Truly”.
He continued, “Thank you, @candykittens &, @jampotproductions, for your ongoing support. To my incredible family, my heart is completely at your disposal. You never let me down, but you always support, cheer me on, and are there for me. Every day having you makes me feel better.
To my friends, who support me throughout every stage of my life. That’s a true friendship; they always make sure I’m center when I’m down and pick me up when I’m down. I’m in love with you all, but I’m not sure how I got that much of you! !
“To the Radio 1 listeners, to the crowds who cheered me on, and to every person who donated anything. WOW!! The real heroes are you guys! You alone made over 2 million pounds to save lives, thanks to you! Thank you so much! “!
Finally, Jamie addressed my Wife Sophie, who is there with me every step of the way. Although I assumed fairy tails would be the only place this love would occur. When I was unable to continue, I turned to Sophie because you made me realize that I could do it. Without you by my side, life wouldn’t be worth it.
And keep in mind that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything. You are braver than you think, and stronger than you think. Make your goal to be vulnerable because it’s cool. If you’re feeling bad or weak, shout from the roof top; that’s strength.
“Thank you for everything this week, thank you for your ongoing support. I’ll keep this in mind for the rest of my days! I’ll now take a break. I adore you all.
