James Jordan says major Dancing On Ice change will ‘mix things up’
Dancing On Ice on ITV has become a recurring series on television since 2006’s debut. However, the show has undergone a few changes in recent years.
James Jordan, the 2019 ice hockey champion, has now suggested that a significant series update might “mix things up.” James revealed in an exclusive conversation with the Mirror that “I know Dancing on Ice have a new producer this year, who I’ve worked with before,” adding that “I know he’s got a lot of things lined up a little bit a mix.”
James, a former Strictly Come Dancing professional, stated in an exclusive conversation with Sky Vegas that “I love the show so there isn’t anything I would like to change.” “If I had to pick one thing to like to see, I would want to see the skaters chatting to one of the hosts in a green room as a reaction to their performance, with all the skaters around them,” according to James, 46. Although it’s possible that Strictly Come Dancing might be too similar, I like to see the host families’ camaraderie.
After Phillip Schofield left his ITV positions in 2023, the hosting lineup changed last year. Holly Willoughby, his former co-host, and Stephen Mulhern now co-host the skating program.
Stephen revealed his feelings about making a comeback to the rink after the pair co-hosted the competition for the first time last year. He posted on X: “Holly’s bringing the glamour, I’m bringing… well, myself. Dancing on Ice returns this Sunday, live at 6.30pm on @itv and @ITVX. Prepare for sparkle, skating, and a night of pure, unmissable entertainment”!
A number of brand-new stars will ice their way to the series’ goal of getting their hands on the trophy on the ice. Ferne McCann, Mollie Pearce, Sir Steve Redgrave, Sam Aston, Charlie Brooks, Josh Jones, Anton Ferdinand, Chelsee Healey, Dan Edgar, Chris Taylor and Michaela Strachan make up this year’s line-up.
And James has already stated his opinion on who he believes will succeed and who might struggle, despite the fact that we have yet to see them demonstrate their newly acquired skating prowess. He stated, “I do think age plays a significant role in fear. When you’re younger, you’re a bit more fearless, whereas when you’re slightly older you’re constantly thinking that you’re going to break a bone if you fall. I was watching Wes Nelson
When I fell, I suffered a bad injury, while the other person was in his early 20s when I watched him fall.
” This is why when I am looking at this year’s contestants, I kind of rule out some of the older ones from winning. It’s much easier for the younger ones because they’re more fearless. “
