James Bond bosses share major update as Harry Potter producers take the reins

The next James Bond movie will be produced for Amazon MGM Studios by Amy Pascal and David Heyman, who are known for producing Spider-Man and Harry Potter.
Spider-Man and Harry Potter producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are to produce the next film in the James Bond series for Amazon MGM Studios. It comes after Amazon gained creative control of the British spy franchise in February, following a deal which saw Eon Productions, run by Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli – who have produced the franchise since the death of Albert “Cubby” Broccoli – become co-owners with Amazon MGM Studios.
In a joint statement, Pascal and Heyman stated that James Bond is one of the most recognizable characters in cinematic history when asked about taking on the next movie.
We are honored and eager to see Bond continue his extraordinary journey as he embarks on his next adventure by following in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, who both made numerous extraordinary movies.
Pascal, who is renowned for her role in the last three Spider-Man movies, is currently producing Ryan Gosling’s Ryan Gosling-directed Project Hail Mary for Amazon MGM Studios.
She has also produced the Luca Guadagnino-directed Challengers, and is working on Narnia alongside Mark Gordon, which Greta Gerwig is directing for Netflix.
Heyman produced all eight film adaptations of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books, as well as the three Fantastic Beasts films, and has also worked on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood and Gravity, as well as Paddington and Paddington 2.
He is currently working on Amy Adams’ adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguru’s Klara And The Sun, which he starred in in pre-production with the Harry Potter television series.
Courtenay Valenti, the head of film at Amazon MGM Studios, stated in response to the announcement that “we are approaching every creative decision with James Bond, which Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have so masterfully directed, with the greatest sense of responsibility.”
Amy Pascal and David Heyman are two of the most accomplished, knowledgeable, and respected film producers in our industry, making up an elite group of producers who have managed and developed massive film franchises to box office success and critical acclaim.
We are honored to collaborate with them on James Bond’s upcoming chapter, and we are eager to present a compelling narrative that upholds this beloved character’s impeccable legacy to international audiences.
Heyman and Pascal will work together to produce the movie, both of whom will work for Pascal Pictures.
Amazon MGM Studios have agreed a deal with the Broccoli family behind 007 and producer Michael Wilson to take over the creative rights of the movies, in a move likely to end speculation over the future direction of the storied spy franchise. However, Broccoli and Wilson will remain co-owners of the franchise.
Following rumors about who might succeed Daniel Craig, who portrayed James Bond in the famous No Time to Die in the 2021 film, has been confirmed. However, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the mastermind behind the film, have announced their resignations.
