The mother of the late Jade Goody once heartbreakingly admitted she wasn’t a very good parent. Jackiey Budden wrote in 2015 how she wished she’d been “a better mum” to the Big Brother legend as she mourned her only child on the six-year anniversary of her death.

Jackiey, who broke her silence on Monday night regarding Jade’s ex Jeff Brazier launching legal action against her, apologised for not being the mother she should have been to her daughter, who tragically passed away from cervical cancer in 2009, leaving behind two young boys.

In the open letter to Jade, Jackiey vowed to be always be there for Jade and Jeff’s sons Bobby and Freddie, penning: “I want to be there for the boys, and I will never let them forget you. You were an amazing mum. I wish I could have been more like you.”

The reality TV star smoked crack cocaine in front of her mother in an apparent attempt to shock Jackiey out of her addictions when her daughter Jade was only 20 years old and employed a illiterate dental nurse. The late mother-of-two snuck into her mother’s stash of deadly drug in her womb to arouse her desire to quit.

However, the experience only made Jade feel “dirty and disgusting,” and it failed to stop Jackiey’s addiction from her mother. In her autobiography, Jade: Catch A Falling Star, Jade penned a letter to her (Jackiey) explaining how cruel and heartbreaking it was to witness a family member, your own flesh and blood, killing themselves in front of your eyes.

Jackiey admitted in an open letter to Jade in 2015 that she had a feeling that you would beg me to stop [the drugs], but I couldn’t. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry, Jade. I wish my mother had been more effective. I’m sorry for the disappointments I’ve had. I’ve been drug-free for 12 years, but I’m never going back.

Jade, who wed Jack Tweed a month earlier, tragically passed away on March 22, 2009, at the age of 27. Unexpectedly, UK health services were affected by Jade’s terminal cancer diagnosis when they noticed a significant rise in requests for cervical cancer screening, particularly from younger people. This surge counteracted a decline in screening over the previous ten years, particularly among women between the ages of 25 and 29.

The 16-year anniversary of Jade’s passing left behind her two young sons, age 20 and 21, as well as her late sons Freddie and Bobby. It was revealed on this heartfelt anniversary that Jade’s ex, Jeff, who is the father of her two sons, had filed a lawsuit to stop Freddy, his 20-year-old son, from seeing Jackiey.

Freddy frequently “stoops out the house” after significant arguments, opting to stay at his grandmother Jackiey’s apartment in southeast London, a rumor that he has had a “secret feud” with his father.

Jackiey and Jeff have openly discussed their disagreements over the years, with Jeff admitting that his former mother-in-law makes him feel like a “the mean parent” while Jackiey retaliated by calling her grandson’s father “a c**k.”

Jackiey broke her silence on the latest rift on Monday night. “I know what this is all about,” she declared. Jackiey, who also featured on Celebrity Big Brother with her daughter, added dismissively: “It (the situation with Jeff) doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter.

When she was asked about her desire to spend time with her grandson, she responded, “Of course I do.” She told the Mail, “I see Freddy all the time, and I’ll see him.”

According to reports, Jeff, the star of SAS: Who Dares Wins, has spoken with a lawyer to “protect Freddy from a relationship that has been incredibly detrimental to his wellbeing.”

According to sources close to Freddy’s residence in Bermondsey, south-east London, frequently after having heated arguments with his father. He and Jeff frequently argue that the rows can be bad, things can go really, really pear-shaped between them, and he leaves when he arrives on the doorstep, sometimes very unhappy, and wanting to see his nan, “one source revealed, adding.”
