Katherine Kelly, the actress behind the ITV thriller Protection, is back on the screens, but TV viewers will also be familiar with her well-known partner.
Katherine, 45, plays DCI Hannah Wheatley, a police officer stationed in the witness protection unit in her most recent role. When a witness protection family is murdered, leading DI Liz Nyles, played by Siobhan Finneran, to believe that someone on the team may be leaking information, events become even more unpredictable.
The former Coronation Street star is dating Line of Duty’s Tony Pitts if we don’t see them on television. The pair broke news in November 2022 when they revealed their romance after attending the Dancing with Heroes ball together despite the report that they had been dating for “some time.”
According to a source who spoke to The Sun, they have attended a number of events together this year, including Royal Ascot and ITV Palooza earlier this month. They have kept their relationship private. Kelly was stroking the back of Tony all night at the Dancing With Heroes ball because she couldn’t keep her hands off him.
They have met each other’s families and earlier this year took their respective children on vacation. It’s obvious that Kathy and Tony are a really good couple.
Tony frequently appears in Katherine’s Instagram posts, and their relationship has since grown stronger since then. The pair posed for photos with Zara, Mike Tindall, Leigh Francis, and Mike Tyson earlier this month while they were both at the Cheltenham Festival.
In addition, the pair made a romantic trip to Naples, Italy, in August. Katherine and Tony matched their white outfits in a snap, making Katherine and Tony look effortlessly stylish. Katherine looked dapper in a white shirt and pair of pants while her actor boyfriend, who was wearing a white broderie anglaise dress, looked dapper.

Katherine was married to IT consultant Ryan Clark before wed her. The pair tied the knot in Las Vegas’s Little Church of the West in 2013 after meeting in Australia in 2011 and giving birth to Orla Kelly, their second child. Rose Christie, their second child, was born in 2016.
Katherine revealed how their paths first crossed in 2016 when she revealed how her relationship with Ryan ended. Ryan and I first met at the Australian wedding of my best friend. But he was with someone else, and we had only spoken the day before our six-year relationship, she claimed.
He and I first became good friends because he was a member of my friend’s circle, and we would frequently see each other when we were together. Then, when I returned, he was still single and I was also, so it was lovely to finally find love.
Katherine continued, “We both got pretty choked up, and it was more emotional than I had anticipated.” However, we still maintain that the wedding was completely ours and that it was the most enjoyable experience we’ve ever had.
Unfortunately, the pair ended their relationship in April 2020, seven years after getting married. Ryan and Kathy have had to make a difficult separation. They both see it as a wise choice, and they both agree that their separation is peaceful. According to a source, “their children are their top priority, and they will continue to co-parent as good friends.” Following the split, Katherine reportedly relocated back to Barnsley.
