Chris Taylor, a reality TV star, has revealed that he has injuries and that he is undergoing physiotherapy while Dancing on Ice.

Chris, 34, who gained notoriety on Love Island, is one of the remaining contestants in the new ITV skating series. Due to an injury, Robin Johnstone has since been paired with Vanessa Bauer, who was previously his partner.

Chris was a guest on the Not My Bagg podcast before his next routine over the weekend. In the most recent episode, which was released on Tuesday, he spoke with former Gogglebox star Joe Baggs about his experiences.

Talking about DOI, he said: “It’s an absolute pogo stick of emotions, I’ll admit”. Chris added that “it’s wild” and went on to discuss the physical impact of being a contestant. The guest told Joe: “There’s a lot of minor injuries cropping up”.

He continued by saying: “I have to go to the physio every week, which is kind of nice. I get like a bit of a massage. I’m occasionally making up stories. Sometimes I’m not in pain. I occasionally just need a little break and massage.

Chris added that one of his knees has been “flaring up” and that he’s been experienced a “dead” arm during training. He also teased that he’s being “held together” by tape at the moment whilst on the show, which returned last month.

He said: “But yeah like, knee flaring up. I’ve got this arm… my arm goes dead. Not in a pleasant or enjoyable way; instead, it just goes out of style after training, and I feel like I can’t lift anything more. They must therefore make that right. Yeah, I’m holding together… I’m essentially soldotape-taped to the minute.

The conversation comes after Vanessa, Chris’ original skating partner, announced last week that she would not be able to continue performing with him on the new series. She described the news as “upsetting” and told fans that it was the result of her sustaining an injury in an “accident” backstage.

She remarked, “I didn’t realize how bad it was then, but after an MRI, it turned out that I had a torn ligament, a severe grade two sprain injury, and a major grade three sprain injury.” I shouldn’t be skating on an injury like that”.

Following the announcement that she would have to resign from the contest while recovering, Chris paid her tribute. He wrote: “She is hands down the most committed, determined and inspirational person I have ever met. She gives it her all, and teaching her has been a pleasure. Very, very sad we didn’t get to finish this together, but you’ve got an annoying brother for life now”.

Last Sunday, he and his new skating partner Robin made their first trip to the rink. Chris later claimed that he was “gutted” by how their performance turned out after falling over during the routine, as previously reported.
