Israel attacks southern Gaza’s largest hospital

According to the state’s Ministry of Health, an Israeli military attack on the largest hospital in southern Gaza resulted in the deaths of two people and inflicted several others.
According to the ministry, the attack targeted Khan Younis’s Nasser Hospital’s surgical building on Sunday night. As Israel resumed its war in Gaza last week with a surprise wave of air raids, the facility was overwhelmed with the dead and wounded as a result of the attack.
A 16-year-old boy who had undergone surgery two days prior to Sunday was one of the victims. Ismail Barhoum, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, was also killed while undergoing medical care there, according to a statement released by Hamas.
The attack was confirmed by Israel’s military, who claimed it had hit a Hamas member. The armed Palestinian organization that controls Gaza has been blamed on numerous times by Israeli officials for civilian casualties, claiming it was purposefully operating in densely populated areas.
Throughout the conflict, Israeli airstrikes and raids have damaged Nasser Hospital, like other medical facilities throughout Gaza.
Palestinian health officials claim that more than 600 people have been killed by Israeli forces since the enclave assault has resumed, including dozens more in the past 24 hours.
