After her “difficult” split from husband Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher has revealed what she is currently dating.
The 53-year-old actress, known for her roles in Ali G and Borat, announced the end of their 21-year relationship in April of last year’s Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic actress Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic, a.
Though it emerged the couple, who share three children – daughters Olive, 17 and Elula, 14, and nine-year-old son Montgomery – had actually quietly split in 2023. They first met in 2001, and they tied the knot in Paris in 2004.
However, Isla posted a funny photo of herself and Sacha posing together in tennis whites in a joint statement outlining their split on Instagram. We are finally putting our racquets down, she wrote. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have been quietly adjusting to this change and have always given our privacy a priority. We will always be there for our children and share our love and devotion. We sincerely appreciate our family’s wishes for privacy”.
After declaring that “living in Trump’s America was an unappealing concept,” Isla revealed that she has since moved from the US to London. She is also set to appear in the upcoming Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy film, which is released in cinemas on Valentine’s Day.
Isla told The Times: “It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever been through, and I’ve learned a lot about myself from it.” I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents”.
Asked if she is currently dating again, the star – who first shot to fame in her native Australia as Shannon in Home and Away – declared: “That’s not on my to-do list. All of that is beyond my power to consider.
However, she is “trying to readdress my ambition, refocus, and get re-inspired for my career,” as well as focusing on the women who have helped her through her divorce.
Isla said, “Those women have held me, and those women have cared for me.” I’m actually going to get emotional. Because of them, I’m sitting here right now. I’ve learnt so much about the power of female friendship and I’ve just learnt that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are. It’s been this expansive learning curve”.
