Inside Coleen Nolan’s new house – from 30 surprising pets to daughter at bottom of garden

After working in television for more than a quarter of a century, Coleen Nolan claims her father would always advise her that she should work on a farm. She gave her “happy place” in June when she received the keys to her six-acre Staffordshire home. in an exclusive chat, and even though it’s a lot of work to keep everything running smoothly, she’s living her best life.

“It’s just a wonderful feeling, it really is my happy place”, she shared. “The best thing about it is, the animals don’t care whether I’ve got make-up on, or what I’m wearing. As long as I’m giving them food, letting them out or taking them for a walk, they don’t care about anything else”.

She continued, “Because I’m in an industry that is fabulous, but also means you’re judged by everything you do, being on the farm where nothing matters and no one is judging me is a wonderful feeling”.

Coleen, who will celebrate 25 years on Loose Women next year, also shares the plot with her daughter Ciara and Ciara’s new fiancé Max. The couple, who got engaged in March while visiting Vietnam, reside in a separate home that the couple’s previous owners had used as an Airbnb.

As well as being a huge help to take care of the three horses, five dogs, six cats, five ducks, two cockerels, four hens and five pygmy goats, Ciara also has another very important job – the farm chef!

“It’s fabulous because we’re so close, and I know it sounds like a cliché but she’s my best mate and I just love Max”, she said. “If I had to have neighbours, they’d be the ones I’d want”.

Coleen’s farmhouse, which she says has an “atmosphere of countryside and cosiness” with its low beamed ceilings and lots of natural stone and wood, already feels like home to her, but there’s plenty more she’d like to do it.

At the moment, her living room is her favourite spot. “In this room I have my bookcase and I’ve kind of tried to make it a chillout, kind of library room”, she said. “On the bookcase I have souvenirs. My kids always bring me back something when they are away on vacation.

” I have my Emmy, that’s my favourite pride and joy so I have to mention her! Pictures, books, everything you could want just to chill out in this room. “

After rolling up her sleeves and revealing a stunning brick fireplace in her” favourite room”, the lounge, she was treated to a Changing Rooms-style makeover by her son Shane’s new partner, Kim Sallis.

After splitting from his Miss GB wife Maddie Wadhan last year, the musician’s father, EastEnders actor Shane Richie, and his mother, Kim, is thrilled to see her son find happiness once more.

” Shane and Kim locked me out of my new bedroom and said they were going to do it up as my Christmas present, “says Coleen, grinning”. While I was locked out, the entire room was decorated. Kim purchased the bedside lamps and bed linens, and Kim did the entire design. They couldn’t have got me anything better, it’s amazing. “

Coleen is proud of herself, but Ciara, her daughter, is arguably even more proud of what her mother, especially as a woman, has accomplished on the farm. She’s such an inspiration, she’s worked her entire life and to see a nearly 60-year-old woman with all this to herself is so inspiring, “she said, with an emphasis on” woman”.

” I’m absolutely loving living here. Within a few days, it changed from a house to a home. We’re actually living my dream life, too, and I’m so grateful. I couldn’t be more proud of her. The horses are visible from my window in the morning, and that’s what I like.

Since they are focusing on saving money while building a house together, Ciara claims that she and Max haven’t yet made any wedding plans. While she’s still loving life as a newly-engaged woman, she jokes that the proposal wasn’t quite as perfect as one might expect.

Although the man who was rowing our boat was coughing and spitting the entire time and Max was shaking like a leaf, “Ciara laughed,” he said. Additionally, he made the proposal using a market-purchased £8 plastic ring. But, a couple of days later, we arranged to make our own rings. The evening was imperfectly perfect. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. “
