Sally Nugent is a familiar BBC Breakfast presenter and journalist, but she is reportedly residing in a stunning £1.4 million home away from our screens.
The 53-year-old has been at the heart of BBC Breakfast since it was revealed in October 2021 that she would permanently take over as host of Dan Walker, Charlie Stayt, and Naga Munchetty, along with her co-presenters, Dan Walker, Charlie Stayt, and Naga Munchetty. Sally has over 25 years of journalism experience, including stints as a sports reporter for BBC News and the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special in 2023.
Away from bulletins and breaking news, Sally lives in Greater Manchester, and we’ve taken a peek inside her remarkable four-bedroom home, which boasts an in-house gym and a piano. She is thought to live in the £1.4million home with her adorable Cavapoo, having split from her husband, Gavin Hawthorn, in 2023, with the age of their son unknown.

She did reveal her transformation in the family home during lockdown, though keeping her family secrets. With a spin bike, Sally transformed one of the rooms into her very own private gym.
This is my before picture for the #bigbikein, she wrote in a photo of the bike in a room with exquisite parquet flooring. No one will ever see the ‘ after’. Really enjoyed my 30 miles. The brilliant @louiseminchin is still pedalling. She’s doing a hundred! #nhs #stayathome #savelives”.

Sally enjoys music in the abode, where she can improve her skills, along with a traditional piano, which is also about fitness. She’s previously mastered Adele’s beloved song ‘ Make You Feel My Love’, using a metronome to guide her.
Her home’s aesthetic is minimalist, yet she brings a touch of magic with fairy lights entwined around a staircase bannister. A large window opens to the outside, allowing natural light to enter the home’s stairway and window-shaded windowsill, which are both illuminated by beloved family photos.
Her bedroom exudes understated elegance, with long gold drapes, a cream carpet, and beige walls creating a serene ambience. The space is uncluttered, featuring only a double bed and a mirror, as seen in several selfies she’s previously shared.

Sally shared a closer look at home in an interview with Radio Times, “My sofa is in my kitchen diner and there’s a huge flat-screen TV on the wall.” She also said at the time, “During the lockdown, we all got hooked on Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix, but it’ll come as no surprise that I’m a news junkie”.
Sharing a glimpse into her morning routine, Sally previously told The Sunday Times, “My alarm goes off at 3.45am. I don’t have a loud, scary one that gives you a coronary. A light box gently wakes me up when I use it. Every five minutes starting at 3:30 am, I set a backup phone alarm. Touch wood, I’ve never had to use it.
Before I do anything, I check the guests’ overnight briefing notes on my phone to see what news we’ve received and the most recent political rant.
