Wynne Evans, a performer best known for his GoCompare commercials, has abruptly left the Strictly Come Dancing live tour due to allegations that he made a sexually inappropriate remark while on a call.

Before making the decision to step down following the controversy, the 53-year-old was making the decision to tour the country for the lavish Strictly tour. Wynne confirmed his departure in an Instagram post on Tuesday, 28 January as he said, “I’ve agreed with the BBC that l’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing”.

He further expressed regret, “I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection”. He added, “I’m sorry to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances, and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me”. We have a look inside Wynne’s striking pad as he returns home after his Strictly journey.

Following his divorce, Wynne purchased his home in an ominous state of urgency. He previously said, “My relationship with my home is a little odd because I bought the house I currently reside in as a result of getting divorced and buying it quickly. It was the only place I could quickly enter because it was largely unliveable and empty.

He continued, “But I bought it because the interior had a lot of original architecture and details inside. The doors and ceilings are simply amazing. I’ve never seen ceilings like it – it’s like a stately home, incredible. It was in a bit of a mess, windows missing, practically derelict, and I was at the lowest point of my life so I remember thinking: ‘ What an idiot – why have you bought this house? It is a chain around your neck. ‘”

The house struggled during the initial weeks, especially when the central heating went off in mid-November. The children were able to escape the cold by sleeping in tents in their bedrooms. Wynne recalls how many times he claimed to have been sleeping in a bedroom without any glass in the window while reliving that time in his life.

His top priority was to quickly renovate the children’s bedrooms once they were settled in so that they would become more appealing. They would eventually be redesigned to reflect the personal style of his son and daughter. Wynne shared that it took him about six months to quickly update the house’s main features, including replacing the windows with handcrafted, wooden replicas, including the restored original stained glass, installing new central heating, laying carpets, and repurposing the kitchen.

Wynne has taken great pleasure in gradually transforming each room into his distinctive style and putting himself around objects that he enjoys and values. His dream home has now been built as a result of all his diligent work and care. Wynne shared: “I’ve got quite strange taste I guess – quite a flamboyant taste. I believe my bedroom is sort of out there; in fact, I have a photo of Are You Being Served’s John Inman and Mrs. Slocombe. with a retro-no-pink Welsh blanket on the bed and bright yellow walls above, in pop art. It’s very eclectic and very different”.

Additionally, Wynne is a fan of unusual brands and prefers to use them when decorating homes. He removed the Seletti rug from the hall and added gray tones to make the area appear darker. He then removed the hall flooring and added the Seletti rug. However, he doesn’t shy away from vibrant decor with colour, bold patterns, and standout pieces decorating the home to show off his decorative flair, carefully chosen to suit each space and create the desired ambience.

The way Wynne ties dark wall shades to the stunning original plasterwork ceiling and restored picture rail details is particularly impressive in Wynne’s drawing room. The turret, an eccentric nook set up around a multifunctional table with a roulette wheel, is the real showpiece, which is a clear sign of Wynne’s love for the extraordinary and the unexpected in his abode.

With the departure of Wynne’s children, which have grown up and left, giving him the opportunity to transform one room into a special space that reflects his life. Wynne said, “There’s a music room which basically has my memorabilia from my career. One of the original Gio images from the GoCompare advertising campaign that would have appeared on the London Tube is located there, and it’s a grand piano.

The music room was painted a dark velvet red and velvet drapes were installed to cover the piano’s bay doors, which I wanted to do like a theater. I recently received a royal crest that resembles the curtains from the Royal Opera House, which has been a feature in my career, and I know this may sound odd.

Wynne was able to get some of the old cinema chairs that his parents had previously saved from demolition for his “entertainment” room. The majority of the rooms in this incredible house are filled with this familial and historical connection. His father, a carpenter and cabinet maker, also had his great-grandmother’s Venetian chandelier and his father’s dining room table.

The welcoming atmosphere of his home is what Wynne values most in his life. He said:” It’s about entertaining and drinking and singing. I adore living there because it is truly an entertainment venue. “Despite the quick purchase of the home, Wynne said it provides” absolute warmth”, and he’s” really happy “to invest in the property he’ll” never leave. “
