I’m A Celeb’s Richard Coles marks birthday of late husband five years after tragic death

I’m A Celebrity star Reverend Richard Coles paid tribute to his late husband, David, on what would have been his birthday.
Reverend Richard, who recently came in third place on the ITV programme, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a sweet message on David’s birthday. After his husband David Coles passed away just days before Christmas, the vicar is set to enter the ITV camp tonight. He was struggling in 2019.
David, also a clergyman, was only 43 when he died of liver disease in 2019, caused by an alcohol addiction that had gripped him since his teenage years. In 2007, Richard and David began dating. Three years later, the couple got into a civil partnership with David taking Richard’s surname.
Reverend Richard, David’s loving husband, shared a photo of him and their dogs on what would have been his 48th birthday. In front of four excited puppies, David put on a grey facemask, donned black sweatpants, and wore a black long-sleeved top.

Richard simply wrote: “David’s birthday today. He would have had eighteen years. RIP”. Fans eluded the comment section to express their support, with one user writing, “Thoughts and prayers with you Richard, embrace the time you had together.” Richardson previously questioned why he wanted to keep his husband’s agonizing alcoholism a secret.
He said: “I often think if someone dies of drink as people used to say, that people filed them under a sort of tragic, squalid death. David was a lot more than that. Before we could talk about what killed him, I wanted to understand why David was so significant to those who loved him.
Richard and Dickie Cant, the son of late actor and Play Away presenter Brian Cant, have since found love again, as he previously claimed last year. As Dickie made the first move, the pair met on a dating app. Richard revealed that Dickie doesn’t care about fame, and that he in turn doesn’t mind that Dickie is atheist.
He addressed the loss and grief of his husband David’s passing from alcoholism in an interview with the Sunday Times. When someone speaks in a way that makes you feel like you should be over it, Richard said, “I’m angry.” It’s not a cold. He also admitted that losing him” messed his f***ing life up. “
