Ibadan Stampede: Court Dismisses Case Against Naomi, Others

The case involving the deaths of more than 30 children at a Basorun Christmas party in 2024 has been dismissed by an Ibadan High Court sitting. The capital of the Oyo State, Ibadan.

Queen Naomi, Oriyomi Hamzat, and Abdulahi Fasasi, the judges’ attorneys, were all cleared of all charges by Justice Ladiran Akintola, who rendered the judgment.

After affected families showed compassion for the defendants and requested that the case be dropped, according to the state prosecutor and Abiodun Aikomo, the case was later withdrawn.

He confirmed that some families had received financial aid and returned the seized items.
