I Will Charge Electricity Vandals With Economic Sabotage – Wike

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will learn from the mistakes made by vandals who damaged and stole transmission cables, according to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

A furious Wike claimed that some suspects had been detained in connection with the crime during a media conference on Sunday evening.

He claimed that the arrested people would only face economic sabotage and not theft.

The minister claimed that the vandals are severely retaliating for their crimes and are putting a strain on the country’s capital city to maintain stability.

He claims that the suspect won’t leave the case until proven guilty of the crime.

Wike said, “They vandalised, stole the cables, for over 60% of Abuja to be dark. Sabotage! The security forces are on top of the situation, and by God’s grace. Some of the people we’ve arrested will never leave, and everyone who is involved will take away from it, I assure you.

” We won’t charge you with stealing, we will charge you with economic sabotage. Enough is enough. Nobody will take this. Nobody who is in love with his country will understand what is happening.

Wike urged FCT residents to report suspicious activity to the policing of the country’s capital.

The 132kV transmission line and underground cables were vandalized, according to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) last Friday, which blamed the power outage in Abuja on.
