Many people value taking a lot of dietary supplements, but taking a few pills or gummies every day is not the most convenient. And so David Beckham has partnered with a team of scientists to create IM8, a dissolvable drink that contains 92 different vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and pre-, pro- and post-biotics.

“Health and wellness have always been a priority for me, both on and off the field”, said David. Every day, I wanted to make it simpler for everyone to feel their best, “I wanted to create something.” With IM8, we’ve done that. My family and I both take these products, and they have actually changed our moods. I’m thrilled to be able to share what we’ve created with some of the world’s best scientists in a truly unique way.

The powder – which is designed to be stirred into a glass of water – costs £99 for 30 servings, or £79 if you subscribe and save. Travel sachets are also available, starting at £89.

I wanted to see how this compared to the popular green drink AG1, so I decided to switch from my usual morning coffee to this for a month. Here’s what happened…

Pros

  • Tastes nice
  • Very easy to take
  • Developed by scientists and its claims are trustworthy
  • Removes the need to take lots of different capsules, gummies and supplements
  • Ideal if you don’t like swallowing pills
  • After drinking this every morning, I felt more upbeat and upbeat.
  • My skin looked better

Cons

  • It’s expensive
  • When you get to the other end of the glass, it starts to get a little gritty (best to do it all at once).
  • Must be done frequently and over time for results to be seen.
  • It’s difficult to say that taking this medication caused the changes I observed.

IM8 review

First up, it looks very smart. A sachet of the powder, an insulated cup, an insulated cup, and a “forever” tin were delivered to my kitchen worktop, which I received.

I normally press the Nespresso machine’s button when I wake up, but instead every month I put a scoop of this powder in my IM8 cup with about 350ml of cold water, essentially, in one go.

I actually quite like the green, earthy taste of AG1 but I know that I lot of people don’t, the acai and mixed berries flavour of IM8, however, tastes more like squash – I’m not a squash fan so this isn’t really to my liking, but it’s fine, and easy to drink.

I’m typically seriously sluggish through my lunchtime after drinking a cup or three of coffee, but drinking this instead kept me alert for hours (OK, I could still have one later in the morning, but there was much less of the typical highs and slumps I typically get by on).

It tastes like acai and mixed berries (Laura Mulley).

The biggest change I noticed, however, was in my skin – I’d been struggling with breakouts for months, but my skin is much clearer now. Of course, I can’t say that it was definitely all down to taking IM8 (I had used some new skincare and had a recent facial too), but I’m sure it helped.

I enjoyed the fact that I was absorbing so much goodness into my body at once. I usually take a number of different supplements, including probiotics, iron liquids and sugar-free gummies, but this includes a whole bunch of beneficial vitamins, minerals, adaptogens, biotics and more (you can read the full list of ingredients here).

The biggest downside to IM8 is the cost, at £79 a month, it’s not something I can afford to buy regularly, but if you’re someone who takes a lot of expensive supplements every day, this may indeed work out cheaper. I prefer the “green” taste of AG1, but for me, AG1 comes out slightly ahead. I would also look to purchase a second pack of IM8 if I needed a health boost.

Another option is Protein Works ‘ “All In” A. I. Greens, which is slightly cheaper (currently reduced to £34.99 for 30 servings), which claims to deliver 172 health benefits, I’ll be giving this a go next and reporting back.
