Hugh Jackman’s ex wife Deborra-Lee Furness makes huge decision after ‘messy’ split

Deborra-Lee Furness is reportedly contemplating a return to her native Australia following her split from ex-husband, Hugh Jackman.

The Greatest Showman actor and the Australian producer, 69, had been married for 27 years before their shocking split in 2023. Deborra has reportedly kept her ex-husband company ever since. Meanwhile, Wolverine star Hugh, 56, has recently went public with his new girlfriend, American actress Sutton Foster.

The X-Men star recently confirmed he is dating his former Broadway co-star, Foster, 46, amidst growing speculation about when their romance began. According to insiders, the breakup between the Aussie stars could turn out to be “messy” as they divide their estimated $250 million fortune.

Deborra appeared “confident, poised, and warm” when she was most recently seen greeting guests at the Australian Open and making hints about a more long-term stay in her hometown. During an interview at the Open, she said: “Melbourne will always feel like home. I’ve had a few offers for films back here, so I’m still reading some scripts, so if there’s something that’s great”.

The Shame actress mentioned that she might be traveling soon despite revealing that she has some work scheduled in New York, where she and her ex-boyfriend reside. She added: “I’ve got some projects in New York. I’m in my chapter three. I’m a creative, I love being creative in a variety of areas and I think I’ll be doing more travelling”.

When the actress and producer revealed that her kids adore Australia, she also gave a second hint. Her daughter Ava, 19, is currently taking a gap year, while their son Oscar, 24, is an artist based in Brooklyn who also teaches two days a week.

She said, “We spend one Christmas in New York and one here.” I feel like I’ve been here forever. I love coming back, I grew up here. Every time I go out, Ava says, ‘ Is there anyone you don’t know in Melbourne? They love the simplicity, the food, the culture, they have family and friends here. There’s no place like home, as Dorothy said”.

Hugh’s Australian friends are reportedly “disgusted” with the Australian actor because of his split from his wife and publicizing his new romance.

Sources told Radar: “Hugh’s friends in Australia are close to Debs too, and they’re siding with her in all of this. Even though Hugh hasn’t gone public with Sutton, it’s an open secret that they’re madly in love. Debs feels like she was let down for the younger model, which is unfortunate.

Deborra-Lee is reportedly relieved after seeing the romantic photos of the new couple together, but she also claims to be “blinded” by the news of Hugh’s new relationship. They are also reportedly now ready to move on with their romance after their breakup more than a year and a half ago.

According to Mail Online, Hugh and his new partner Sutton reportedly made the decision to finally declare their romance because they no longer want to “hide their love.”
