Hollyoaks star hints at ‘split’ from girlfriend a year after going public

James Sutton, an actor for Hollyoaks, and his girlfriend James Sutton reportedly broke up with each other a year after making an online commitment.

Last February, the duo announced their pairing on Instagram. James, who plays John Paul McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, just began writing “mine” alongside a photo of himself and Tamara Jane a year ago. Five months after James’s breakup was revealed, the couple had already established a relationship. Prior to their separation, he and Rachael Collin had been together for five years.

He stated in a statement that Rachel and I had a wonderful relationship and marriage at the time their union ended in September of that year. It was very sad but amicable, and we remain friends”.

However, it appears that James and Tamara are currently going through a divorce. James’ social media account appears to have completely erased Tamara’s identity.

Despite his relationship breakdown, James recently pledged his future to Hollyoaks, in which he has played a starring role for two decades. Speaking on The Tom’s Talks podcast last month, James said: “I’m still on Hollyoaks, which is great. I’ve just signed another year. I’ll remain there until 2026. Yeah. I’m there until January 2026”.

His reveal comes as a number of long-term stars have left or are leaving the Cheshire-based soap. According to reports, Nikki Sanderson, 40, who plays Maxine Minniver, will film her final scenes next month. The well-known actress, who has a long list of well-known TV roles, including Coronation Street, has participated in some significant storylines over the years, including sexual assault and a diagnosis of Munchausen syndrome.

However, a source claims that she hasn’t finished her soap. She met with her bosses and informed them of her exit plans; she had just turned 40; she believed it was time to say goodbye to Maxine; she was also eager to look into other opportunities and be ready to return. Fans can expect a lot of drama before Maxine departs, and bosses have been plotting the character’s exit storyline for months.
