It’s only natural for Brits to begin booking summer vacations and dreaming of sun-soaked getaways as we bid farewell to January. However, with post-Christmas budgets often stretched thin, any strategy to cut down on travel expenses is a welcome relief.

A well-known travel retailer, On the Beach, has developed a clever “Price Drop Protection” program that allows customers to recoup money after their holiday prices drop. Customers are assured that this policy will give them the best vacation deal without any fuss.

If the cost of your holiday decreases at any point after booking and up to 60 days before departure, you’re eligible to claim back the difference, regardless of the amount. This saving opportunity is only available to bookings made by midnight on February 3rd, which means there is a limited window.

On the Beach’s Chief Customer Officer, Zoe Harris, reported by Wales Online, details the rationale behind such a bold initiative: “We know that many Brits who want to take a holiday are concerned about prices going up if they wait, but many are willing to take the risk to see if they can secure a better deal.”

With the launch of their ‘ Price Drop Protection’, On the Beach aims to remove the uncertainty associated with booking holidays: “We’re now eliminating all risk, anxiety, stress and worry for customers with our industry first Price Drop Protection. Customers are assured of the lowest price, but worry not because you can recover the difference.

Customers can also get free airport lounge access this summer from On the Beach, according to its website’s full details. To gain free access to the airport lounge, you must book a five-star vacation in order to enjoy this luxury.

For instance, if you fancy wrapping up the summer in grandeur, consider reserving the five-star Ixian Grand and All Suites hotel in Rhodes, Greece for £1, 151 per person. This all-inclusive package bundles hotel and flights, and you’ll pocket an £84 saving on lounge entry with this trip.

The Eden Roc Resort Hotel package in Rhodes is another offer that includes complimentary lounge access. It’s a lavish holiday that offers a slice of paradise even before your flight takes off, with the option of eight different restaurants and beachfront views.

If Cyprus is more up your alley, an all-inclusive five-star holiday at the Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel and Spa, including flights from Manchester, for £1, 150 will grant you free lounge access pre-flight. Nestled in Paphos, this adults-only hotel offers breathtaking sea views.

Have you ever pondered whether the extra money for access to the airport lounges is worthwhile? One of our reporters described their experience from last year as “a passenger typically pays a fixed fee to access a lounge, in exchange for a variety of food and beverage options tucked away from the bustle of the Departures waiting area.” Manchester Airport, which serves over 160 destinations, boasts nine lounges across its three terminals.

” The Escape Lounge offers ‘ an oasis of calm ‘ and is the most budget-friendly choice, priced at £28.99 per person (accurate at time of original writing). I decided to test this claim at Terminal 1 despite having never used one before, and I find it hard to believe I put off waiting so long.

As I followed the signs to the airport lounge, I felt less stressed out as I navigated through a crowded security checkpoint and replaced with a fluttering sense of anticipation. As I walked down the hallway to the lounge entrance, I was immediately reminded of hotel check-in.

I was given a warm welcome at the door by two employees, and they listed my name as well as the slot I had pre-booked and paid online, which required me to choose an estimated entry time. I was then given the choice to choose between a coffee table and a dining table.

The lounge has “awesomely spacious seating options,” with smaller coffee tables in one area and larger dining tables in another. Adorning one of the walls are clocks displaying various times around the globe, and notably, the space lacks windows.

There were only a few people present when I arrived, which contrasts starkly with the hushed crowds I had previously encountered. I was instructed to order drinks from the bar and take myself to the buffet. So, naturally, I headed on over. Beer and cider would only be offered in two-third pint glasses, and spirits would only be served in single measures, according to a sign at the bar.

“I could’ve easily fallen asleep on the plane after my time in the lounge, so for longer-haul flights I would be rushing to book in again. It has changed the way I approach traveling, and it just proves that having some de-stress and luxury before a stressful day of travel really calms your mind. In total, Escape Lounge access at Manchester Airport costs £29.99 per person”.

You can use Amex Gold credit card to its fullest extent if you choose not to make your reservation through On the Beach and have access to its benefits. Alternatively, you could buy an airport lounge access pass with Priority Pass. The most budget-friendly and basic package is the ‘ Standard for the Occasional Traveller’, priced at £69 annually. The member and any accompanying guests will therefore be required to pay £24 for lounge access.

Some holiday websites offer price match guarantees, but many do not, and some do not, offer refunds for trips found elsewhere for less money. Thomas Cook and Love Holidays are included.
