Beyonce won the album of the year award this year.

Fans were quick to respond on social media after her debut album won the awards. One user wrote: “Finally, Beyonce wins Album of the Year. Before she took the stage to accept the award, Jay Z had not forgotten to thank her for it because she wouldn’t have won it had he not protested that she is constantly being ignored over and over again. Congrats Beyonce. Well deserved”!

Another added: “The Queen claimed her throne”, while a third said: “Finally and well deserved #AlbumOfTheYear for Beyonce. #GRAMMYs”

However, not everyone was impressed, with one user claiming “it should have been Billie”. Another added: “Happy for Beyoncé but… this is just wrong #GRAMMYs”

The Los Angeles County Fire Department received standing ovations from those present before the announcement as they were introduced on the stage to present the awards.

The fire chief thanked all the first responders for the wildfires in Los Angeles, saying it was a “tremendous honor” to present the award.

Prior to the 67th Grammy Awards, a leak had teased the winner of the category. Gold Derby, an authority in awards show coverage and predictions, had suggested the Album of the Year winner. They claimed the award was set to go to Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft or Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter. The experts and editors at Gold Derby have given each of their albums four votes.

Fans of Taylor Swift were shocked when they learned that her prediction was correct for her most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department. Despite being the highest-grossing concert film of all time, her record-breaking concert film The Eras Tour was already passed up in the Best Music Film category.

All of Gold Derby’s experts and editors agreed that Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso would win the Record of the Year award for some of the other Grammy categories.

This year’s event took place once again at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Trevor Noah was present to take over the hosting responsibilities once more. His fifth consecutive hosting snag at the annual bash. The comedian is best known for hosting The Daily Show on Comedy Central from 2015 to 2022.

The Grammys’ hometown was also being helped by this year’s telecast on CBS by raising money to fund relief efforts.
