Gov Fubara Makes First Public Appearance After His Suspension

Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has made his first public appearance since the state’s first-ever state of emergency and suspension from office.
On Sunday, the governor was seen arriving for worship at Salvation Ministries’ GRA, Port Harcourt, headquarters.

President Bola Tinubu issued a state of emergency in Rivers on Tuesday in response to rising political tensions and security concerns. Fubara, his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and all Rivers State House of Assembly members were suspended as a result of the statement.
Rivers Sole Administrator confirms the release of the withheld allocations.
Ibok-Ete Ibas was replaced by the President, who will serve as the state’s sole administrator for the first six months.
The newly appointed Sole Administrator has made a quick transition into office, despite the decision’s mixed reactions from political figures, legal practitioners, and civil society organizations.
He has taken over several strategic decisions, including ordering the immediate payment of local government workers’ salaries and holding emergency security meetings with traditional rulers, local government leaders, and law enforcement officials.

He has also visited the State House of Assembly Complex, promising to finish the reconstruction as soon as possible to guarantee stability in power.
